title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- The NRA Foundation’s Friends of NRA program is proud to announce that they have drawn 2.5 million attendees to their events and grossed more than $400 million since the program’s inception in 1992.

“Reaching these goals would not have been possible without all the hard work of everyone involved in Friends of NRA,” said Kyle Weaver, Managing Director of Field Operations.

“The support we receive from our volunteers and attendees provides grants for thousands of recipients across the United States. We thank everyone who contributed, donated and volunteered their time these past 19 years and for helping make Friends of NRA into what it is today.”

Net proceeds from funds raised at Friends of NRA events are equally divided between local and national projects. Local monies are distributed by State Fund Committees based on grant applications while The NRA Foundation funds projects on a national scope.

“It is through the money raised by Friends of NRA that we have supported worthy projects including youth education, firearm training, range development, and conservation efforts across the country for nearly two decades,” said John DaSilva, National Manager of Events and Marketing.

“Protecting our shooting heritage and traditions for future generations is a goal we encourage everyone to support.”

Friends of NRA is a grassroots fund-raising program that fosters community involvement, raises money, and gives 100 percent of the net proceeds to qualified local, state, and national programs. Working with the NRA’s field staff, thousands of volunteers nationwide participate in the program by organizing committees and planning events in their communities. Monies raised at these events go to The NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Visit the Friends of NRA website at www.friendsofnra.org. Spring 2010 I was asked to do an FHFH presentation to SCI (Safari Club International) Southern NB Chapter.

After the presentation, I had the chance to meet many avid hunters and that is when I met Murray Cruickshank.

Murray advised me that he ran a moose hunt each year in Newfoundland for 5 days – www.adventurequestoutfitters.com.

They have a 90% success rate each year to bring home a moose.

Newfoundland, Canada has the highest density of moose in the world. The huge barrel rolled and Candace Mac Issac from the hit TV Show “The Best of Bull Run” on Wild TV drew the lucky name. We were shocked to see it was Gary W. Pearce from Pennsylvania. Gary had viewed our FHFH Canadian website and thought what we were doing to feed the hungry in Canada was amazing. He went ahead and purchased one ticket for $40.00. He was shocked to get our phone call on Saturday night.

He truly did not believe he won and first asked, “Are you sure it is me?”

Gary said he has never moose hunted before and has always wanted to. He said he has always wanted to do a moose and caribou hunt together. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)-So what if you scheduled a conservation fundraising event, and everyone came?

That is the problem facing Whitetails Unlimited Field Director Dennis Malloy, because his Bucks County (Pennsylvania) Chapter Hunters Night Out sold out in two days, and there were hundreds of requests for additional tickets.

So Malloy, along with his local chapter volunteers, decided to double their workload and schedule a second, identical event to accommodate the demand.

“This is going to be a unique situation, and I’ve never seen people work as hard as they have to pull this off,” said Malloy. “The committee didn’t want to shut anyone out, and everyone has pitched in to have two identical events in 24 hours. It’s amazing, and a little humbling, to be a part of this.”

The original event is scheduled for Saturday, June 4, at the New Hope Eagle Fire Company in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The additional event will be held in the same place 24 hours earlier, on Friday, June 3.

“We are going to have an identical event both nights,” said Malloy. “The same place, the same food, the same guns and prizes, and we even have T-Bone both nights. We want to make sure no one misses anything, and by adding a second night we don’t diminish any aspect of a terrific WTU banquet experience.”

The ‘T-Bone’ Malloy referenced is Travis “T-Bone” Turner, one of the stars of Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector television show.

“Since this would be such a unique weekend, we invited T-Bone to double up with us as a bonus for the membership. T-Bone jumped at the chance, and he’s going to be at both banquets, to thank everyone for their support of WTU and share stories and his unique take on hunters and hunting. T-Bone is going to be the icing on the cake for this celebration of deer and deer hunting.”

There are still tickets remaining for the bonus Friday night event – call East Coast Taxidermy at 215-799-1900, or go on the WTU website at www.whitetailsunlimited.com. Tickets are $30 each, and include entry, meal, door prizes, beer and soft drinks. There will also be a free kids drawing and some of the best gun raffles in the country. The event invitation is available on the WTU website at: http://tiny.cc/qh6fr.

“This community is so dedicated, and they are focused on providing a fantastic whitetail weekend in eastern Pennsylvania for everyone who wants to attend,” said Malloy. “This is one of the best conservation events in the eastern part of the country, and doing two of them, back-to-back, is a fantastic way to top off the spring banquet season.”

Founded in 1982, Whitetails Unlimited is a national nonprofit conservation organization. Our mission is to raise funds in support of education, habitat enhancement and acquisition, and the preservation of the hunting tradition for the benefit of the white-tailed deer and other wildlife. When it comes to the whitetail and its environment, WTU’s degree of professionalism and dedication has earned us the reputation of being the nation’s premier whitetail organization.
Tags: Ammoland.com)- The deadly tornadoes that tore across the Southeast on April 27 could be described as “lethal.”

The devastation and loss affected many residents in the states impacted, directly or indirectly. Lethal Human Scent Elimination Company, owned by Clean Control Corporation in Warner Robins, Ga., was indirectly affected by these storms and is raising money to help those in need.

“The South is where my heart is; it’s where I call home,” said Steve Davison, CEO and Owner of Clean Control Corporation. “The people all across the South have a huge sense of pride, humility and love not only for the area in which they call home but for their fellow neighbors. We help each other in times of need. This, more than any other time, is a time of need on such a large scale. A large portion of outdoors men and women live in the South and with our new product, Lethal Scent Elimination, they have shown us support from the beginning. I think it’s only right to give back any way we can. The tornadoes might have been lethal but the human spirit, courage and drive of us Southerners is way more lethal than any tornado will ever be.”

Lethal Human Scent Elimination Company is producing “Lethal” wristbands that will be available for purchase on the Lethal website at www.lethalproducts.com. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to assist in efforts to help all the states affected by the recent tornadoes.

The Lethal wristbands will represent the strong, “Lethal” spirit of those affected by the storms and those who have helped the victims by purchasing a wristband.

“The hunting community is a strong, tight knit group,” said Justin Neal, President and Key Account Manager of Rendezvous Marketing Group (RMG), the marketing communications agency of record for Lethal. “It is the hope of all of us at Lethal and RMG that the outdoor industry will come together to support such a worthwhile cause and help not only the hunters and fishermen in the South get back to normalcy, but everyone affected. This is certainly an opportune time to show what this industry is made of and the humanity that come with it.”

Lethal and its parent company Clean Control Corporation encourage everyone to order a wristband, wear it proudly and show the world that they have an unshakeable and lethal human spirit. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)-Funding from Whitetails Unlimited chapters has provided more than $17.6 million for local projects in the Central Whitetail states of Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin; and despite the economic downturn, attendance at WTU events remains strong.

“After looking at our numbers at the end of FY 2010, we find that over the years WTU has been able to fund projects totaling $17,681,729 in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin,” said Whitetails Unlimited Executive Director Pete Gerl.

“Our membership remains strong in this central area of Midwest deer hunting, and we expect to continue funding projects in the same manner as in the past.”

Whitetails Unlimited conducts fundraising events to raise resources for conservation, education, and the preservation of the hunting tradition. Unique among conservation organizations, WTU returns 50 percent of net event proceeds back to local chapters, to use on local projects.

“WTU’s local chapters in Wisconsin have funded hunter safety classes, youth outdoor education events, habitat acquisition and improvement projects, handicapped and wounded warrior hunts, range improvements, scholarships, and many, many other projects,” said WTU Field Director Jamie Merckx. Wisconsin has three full-time field directors, and they all work closely with their local chapters, according to Wisconsin Field Director Jim Wiltinger.

“Each chapter has different interests and local needs, and our job is to facilitate the banquet in order to raise as much money for projects as possible.”

LeRoy Schultz, WTU field director in northern Wisconsin, said, “We’ve been able to improve habitat and do many varied local projects, and it’s just great seeing what a difference it can make in a community. It’s humbling to see that we’ve raised more than $10 million over the years in Wisconsin.”

The total for Wisconsin is $10,693,142.

Michigan has a similar history; the first WTU banquet was held in 1985, and $15,818 was raised statewide that year. Since then, $5,161,196 has been raised by Michigan chapters for local projects.

Michigan Field Director Jim Kurdziel also sees many of the same type of projects financed by his chapters as in Wisconsin. “Hunter education is big, and many chapters have, or will, provide financing to local schools so they can participate in the National Archery in the Schools Program.” Jason Maraskine, WTU’s second Michigan field director, agrees.

“Our chapters are very involved with projects that bring other people outdoors: range improvements, education projects, youth camps, and NASP are just a few examples.”

In Illinois, WTU Field Director Darel Martin covers the entire state, where $1,827,391 has been raised for local projects since 1984.

“Illinois has had an amazing string of fundraising success, starting with just three thousand dollars in 1984, but growing to almost a quarter-million dollars last year,” said Martin. The exact amounts are $3,123 in 1984, and $245,584 in 2010. “I’m really proud to represent Whitetails Unlimited in Illinois, and I know it’s a cliché, but it’s true, together we can accomplish great things.”

“Local Illinois chapters help support the Illinois DNR, 4-H Shooting Sports, Boy Scouts, youth education days, hunter education, range and habitat improvement, and many, many other projects, including NASP,” said Martin. “Local banquets are a way for just a few people to do a little extra work, and have a huge impact in their local area. It’s gratifying to look at the cumulative numbers, because when you’re working day-to-day you don’t realize how much it adds up.”

The field directors in all three states said that groups who have local projects in need of funding should call them to discuss the possibility of hosting a WTU event. “We’re always looking for people who have projects in mind to improve conservation efforts in their community, “With a good idea and a few people willing to help out, we can accomplish great things,” said Wisconsin’s Jamie Merckx. Illinois’ Darel Martin agreed, noting, “Once we get a banquet going, almost every one repeats the next year, and that establishes an avenue for funds year after year.”

Michigan Field Director Jim Kurdziel said that an excellent tool for expanding the number of events he organizes is an existing event. “People bring a friend to their local banquet and then they can understand not only how much fun everyone has, but also how much money can be returned for local projects. Then they call to organize a banquet for their own local group.”

Anyone wanting more information about a WTU event can visit the Whitetails Unlimited website at www.whitetailsunlimited.com, or call the WTU national headquarters at 920-743-6777. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Modesto) has introduced Senate Bill (SB) 752 to allow hunters to directly contribute to their favorite wildlife conservation organization when they purchase a hunting license or associated stamps and tags.

The legislation is sponsored by the California Outdoor Heritage Alliance (COHA).

SB 752 would create a sportsmen’s organization “check-off” box that would permit hunters buying their licenses through the Department of Fish and Game’s (DFG) Automated Data License System (ALDS) to voluntarily make a donation to the non-profit hunting-related organization of their choice. Hunters would also have the opportunity to voluntarily release their contact information to the non-profit organization in order to receive educational and promotional materials.

“As a hunter, I can proudly talk of the vital role these non-profit organizations play in California,” said Senator Berryhill. “I believe this bill will go a long way to preserving and strengthening California’s rich hunting history.”

Non-profit sportsmen’s groups provide valuable assistance to DFG in the agency’s effort to conserve and manage California’s wildlife and their habitats. Projects include, but are not limited to, wetland restoration efforts, big game population surveying and research, controlled burning to improve habitat, re-forestation efforts, securing public access to land, facilitating conservation easements on private land, migratory bird banding, installing guzzlers to provide water for wildlife, and trapping and relocation efforts.

“This bill would help financially support the many non-profit groups that protect and restore game species’ habitat or carry out other critically needed conservation projects,” stated Mark Hennelly, Vice President of COHA.

“It would also encourage more hunters to get involved locally to assist these important conservation efforts.”

The first legislative hearing on SB 752 will likely occur in the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee in April.

The California Outdoor Heritage Alliance (COHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting hunting and promoting wildlife conservation. NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas --(Ammoland.com)- One of hunting’s most outspoken advocates, Keith Warren was the special guest speaker at a charity dinner banquet in Amarillo, Texas, benefiting the Outdoor Adventure Foundation.

The Outdoor Adventure Foundation Fund-Raising Dinner Banquet was held Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Khiva Shrine in Amarillo, Texas. The fund-raising event featured dinner, door prizes, silent/live auctions, guns, wildlife prints, hunting and fishing trips and more.
“I’ve talked about the importance of preserving our outdoor lifestyle for more than 25 years,” says Warren, producer and host of The High Road. “Hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities provide wonderful experiences and it’s critical for sportsmen to introduce the outdoor experience to others. Corcoran) was severely injured in Afghanistan when enemy forces using an improvised explosive device attacked the vehicle he was riding in. The explosion left SGM Corcoran critically injured requiring immediate medical evacuation. After recovering from the most life threatening injuries, he remains paralyzed from the waist down from severe spinal cord trauma with back, leg, and pelvic injuries.

“We are always looking for opportunities to give back when we can” said Darrin Ellsmore, owner of RGS labs. “Being able to give back to such a great cause and be able to give someone the ability to get back outdoors and hunt again that was injured fighting for my freedom, I don’t think there is a greater honor” says Darrin Ellsmore.

Many companies have stepped up to help make this event happen.

“Trans Canada has stepped up big time in support of the purchase of the Renegade Wheelchair, all decked out in camo with a ground blind, gun holder and all the other accessories. I am not sure the event could have even taken place without them” says Blaine Anthony from North American Safari.

The event will be filmed for national airing on The Sportsman Channel, which is slated to air sometime in May 2011.

For more information or to get involved with the North American Safari “Get Back Outdoors” events, Please contact Blaine Anthony at (214) 628-6793 or email at blaine@nasafari.com
Tags: Ammoland.com)- January brings a great opportunity for Sportsmen to help those in need.

This time of year brings a number of reasons to celebrate.

For many of us, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day are spent relaxing with family and friends and partaking in good food and holiday cheer; however, there are those who are not as fortunate and struggle to make ends meet, especially at Christmas time.

These past few years have been especially difficult due to economic conditions. As a result, putting nutritious food on the table is a daily challenge. In fact nearly 1 in 7 – or 100,000 people – in our state seek assistance from the food banks and almost half of those are children.

In 2006, a dedicated group of sportsmen formed South Dakota Sportsmen Against Hunger to provide individuals and families with some desperately needed food by harvesting abundant deer and antelope in our state, paying for processing costs and distributing the meat through the food banks and pantries across the state.

Distributing the processed meat through these organizations guarantees that this food will go to those with the most critical need. Sportsmen have been a significant component in the success of the program and with their help we hope to exceed our goal of delivering over 100,000 pound of venison this year.

“You as sportsmen can help us reach our goal this season,” Jeff Olson, president of the Sportsmen Against Hunter association, said.

“On New Year’s day and extending through Jan. 9 2011, unused South Dakota deer and antelope licenses for 2010 will convert to antlerless licenses. As a sportsman who cares, you can help those less fortunate by filling your unused tags and taking those animals to a participating SAH meat processor.”

There are also unsold licenses in many units that can be purchased and used in this antlerless season. Another benefit is that it may help reduce damage to stored feed experienced by farmers and ranchers who have concentrations of these animals on their land.

“January 1st happens to be on a Saturday this year so it is a great time to get out do some hunting on the weekend. Please take the time in early 2010 to help those in need,” Olson said.

For more information about South Dakota Sportsmen Against hunger, and to find a list of participating processors in your area, go to our web page at <a

This is the least we can do to support that work.”

“Jay and Brendan initially gave us space in the book to promote our mission and our upcoming 50th Anniversary. That was generous of them at the time and their generosity continues with this special promotion,” said RGS President and CEO Mike Zagata.

“I have read the book and it does contain a lot of truly new information about hunting this magnificent bird, including the use of the Internet for finding potential grouse covers. I sincerely hope RGS members and other grouse hunters will put this book on their holiday gift and winter reading lists, and thereby support the RGS,” Zagata continued.

FHFH.org

COLUMBUS, OH –-(Ammoland.com)- Many folks think our world is in trouble economically, socially, and spiritually.

How can we as hunters and farmers make a heart shot; and turn the clock back to a better day?

Let’s read what the Bible, the true and eternal Word of God, has to say in the last verse of the Old Testament about the disconnect occurring between parents and their children.

“And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:6 (NKJV)

Throughout North America most hunting and farming organizations are making a concerted effort to engage our young people with special Youth Hunting Days and 4-H activities. You and I can begin returning the hearts of our children to their parents and families by taking them into the world that God has created for us. When a parent and child spend a few hours sitting together in a pop-up blind striving to feed venison to the hungry their hearts beat as one. When a grandparent and grandchild share a seat on a UTV plowing a food plot they will share a closeness to God the Creator and Provider.

While watching a recently released movie, “The Nanny Diaries,” (don’t laugh) my wife and I heard the college -age nanny tell the mother of the young boy, “You have a very narrow window of time when your child has a total trust in you.” Recently, a father said to me that his son didn’t want to go hunting with him. I asked when he first invited his son to join him on a hunt. He replied, “I waited until he was 12 and able to sit still.”

Bowhunting Father And Son

As you may guess by that age the electronic distractions in life claim our children and grandchildren unless we get there first with the exciting, wild side of life outdoors that God has instilled in each of us! I was blessed with a father who GOT IT; probably because his dad, my grandfather, was a Church of God Evangelist, who failed to spend a significant amount of time with his six boys. While not yet five years old my younger brother, Don, and I were at his side on cold, opening mornings of trout season at Beaver Creek in Western Maryland.

I detested impailing the worms with those hooks. We crossed the twomile fields of ‘Ol Kentucky’ each summer to reach the Antietam Creek for our weekly adventures in bow fishing. Following many of those Saturday afternoon bow fishing trips we would take a trunk load of pretty big carp to a nearby section of town where people would flock to our car to take home a fish or two to their families for supper.

During the seemingly unending hours fletching arrows, making bowstrings, tying flies, and reloading shells dad would share our simple family values that were based on God’s Word. He explained that he and his hunting buddy, Bob Spong, did not hunt or fish with those who smoked cigarettes or drank alcohol because those habits ruined the hunt — and that included my brother and me. At the young age of eight or nine we were not aware that our dad was preparing us for the years ahead when our ‘friends’ would try to entice us into trying those and other harmful habits.

We sat in woodlots on nearby farms under oak trees together with dad and his trusty .22 caliber Hi- Standard squirrel rifle. There we learned marksmanship and shooting straight in life. In our early teens we took to the fields with my Stevens 12 Gauge Pump and dad’s Parker Double following our beagles, Chip and Beauty, as they circled the rabbits back to us. Following those hunts mom would prepare our rabbits and birds for the evening meals while dad was layed off from Fairchild Aircraft. We sat 30 yards apart from one another at the ‘Saddle” in Blair’s Valley with our Ben Pearson and Bear semi-recurve bows waiting for the shuffle of a doe’s foot steps. Bowhunting and tournament archery became our favorite outdoor activity.

As the years went by we learned to take deer to Holsinger’s Meat Market and pay for the processing so that those with less money and no deer would have meat for the winter.

My dad, mom, brother and I spent a lifetime sharing God’s world together as a family.

I know many of you throughout North America enjoy spending the same kind of experiences with your children and grandchildren in God’s great outdoors; because I’m blessed to talk with Tim, Doug, Allen, Caroline, Pete, Jason, Dean, Roger, Bonita, Duane, John, David, Henry, Jimmy and many others who call and share their family’s hunting stories. During the past decade we’ve become kind of a family who share the same passion for feeding and helping those whom God has placed before us.

And finally, during these thousands of wild adventures less than 50 miles from our homes the hearts of the parents and their children of our FHFH Family are joined together as we continue to make heart shots.

About:
Ammoland.com)- Webster’s Dictionary lists eight different definitions for the word “Family.”

The most common is “a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head.” At Outdoors Magazine our idea of “family” goes far beyond this. It encompasses a group of people that are united by similar passions and convictions, who know the importance of helping each other.

It is because of this simple idea that Outdoors Magazine is launching a special program for friends and family titled “OM Cares.”

“It is really a simple program,” said James Austin, the president of Elk Publishing. “If you are a non-profit organization currently involved in a fundraising effort we would like to help out. All you need to do is promote subscriptions to Outdoors Magazine on your website or in your literature, and for every one you sell we will donate half the proceeds back to your organization.”

“It is important to us that this effort works for the organizations so we are allowing them to sell the subscriptions for the special rate of $20, which is well below our normal subscription price. That means for every one the organization sells, it will get $10 in its coffers,” said Austin. “It really is that simple. There is no fine print or any strings attached.”

For the past three months Outdoors Magazine has been working out the technicalities of the program with a handful of local organizations including the Pine Grove Program.

“We are really looking forward to getting other organizations involved across the country,” said Austin. “In these lean economic times it is the least we can do to help other organizations that are as passionate about the outdoors as we are.”

About:
Ammoland.com)- Since 1993, hunters have been bringing meat to the tables of those in need through the Georgia Hunters for the Hungry program.

This successful program celebrated serving its one-millionth meal in 2007 and continues to provide opportunities during hunting season for hunters to share their harvest with those in need.

Currently, hunters can donate deer at fifteen participating processors through Jan. 15.

“The Georgia Hunters for the Hungry program is one opportunity for hunters to demonstrate their generosity by sharing their harvest with those in need,” said John W. Bowers, Wildlife Resources Division assistant chief of Game Management.

“The Division is proud to be a cooperator in this public-private partnership and to work with the many partners who make it possible each year.”

Wildlife Resources, along with the Georgia Department of Corrections, Georgia Department of Agriculture, Georgia Wildlife Federation and the Georgia State Association of Food Banks sponsor the program.

Thanks to these partners, and to the efforts of Georgia hunters and participating meat processors, nearly 30,400 pounds of venison were collected, processed and distributed to food banks across the state in 2009. This meat provided approximately 152,000 meals for needy Georgians. Since the program’s inception in 1993, more than 288,282 pounds of venison have been donated.

Hunters interested in participating in the GHFTH program can bring field-dressed deer to any designated drop-off location. All hunters who donate a deer during this collection period will be entered into a drawing for a deer rifle, sponsored by the Georgia Wildlife Federation.

The GHFTH program has extended donation opportunities to include the “Drop Back a Pack” program. This opportunity allows hunters to donate some of their processed venison when they visit the processor to pick up their meat. All participating GHFTH program processors will have a freezer indicating where hunters can “Drop Back a Pack” for the program.

The following fifteen processor locations will accept deer or commercially processed venison from Sept. 11, 2010 – Jan. 15, 2011 during business hours:

Axson – Lee’s Meat Processing, (912) 422-3079

Baldwin – JJ’s Deer Processing, (706) 776-2819

Canton – Mitch’s Archery and Deer Cooler, (770) 479-7004

Columbus – Daffin Meat Processing, (706) 322-8848

Dawson – Mossy Creek Outdoors, (229) 995-4109

Eastman – Barlow’s Deer Processing, (478) 374-5614

Fairmount – Pine Log Processing, LLC, (770) 382-6328

Irwinton – Starley’s Deer Processing, (478) 946-8976

Jefferson – Sealey’s Deer Cooler, (706) 335-9304

Leesburg – Country Jacks, (229) 883-6017

Milledgeville – Wright’s Deer and Wild Hog Processing, (478) 452-4228

Naylor – K&K Deer and Wild Hog Processing, (229) 269-5557

Sparta – Garner’s Grinder, (706) 444-9228

Stephens – Fire Tower #2 Meat Processing, (706) 743-3766

Vidalia – Stewart’s Quality Meat, Inc. title="AmmoLand Reports" href="http://www.ammoland.com/" target="_self">Ammoland.com)- The Fort Bragg QDMA Branch will conduct our 3rd Annual Reach Banquet 17 Sep 2010. The banquet will be held at the Gates Four Club House in Fayetteville, NC.

The purpose of this banquet is to raise funds for our Wounded Warrior to the Woods Program (W3P) and Youth Hunting Program. The Fort Bragg QDMA Branch is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit wildlife conservation organization.

Please consider partnering with us through products, cash donations or sponsorship.

Our branch began the W3P in the summer of 2008 with the intent of reuniting our heroes with the Great Outdoors, in the country they love and have sacrificed so much for. Many of these warriors were avid outdoor enthusiasts before being called to duty. Due to the nature of their injuries, many of them are unable to pursue their passions without physical, mental, and financial support. The branch, in cooperation with the Boys Scouts of America, is currently building disabled-accessible hunting blinds on Ft. Bragg. Our Youth Hunting Program was formed to support the military family. Due to the parents’ intense deployment schedule to Iraq and Afghanistan, many of these children would not be able to participate in these outdoor activities. During these events, our sponsored hunters are provided Hunter Training and clothing and equipment. All hunters are accompanied by volunteer Mentors/Guides.

Our Branch, in cooperation with the Fort Bragg Wildlife Branch, would like to continue to be there for these families. We promote safe and ethical hunting, adherence to wildlife and trespass laws and hunter involvement in education and management programs. We are also involved in community outreach programs.

You may become a Bronze Sponsor for $250.00, a Silver Sponsor for $500.00 or a Gold Sponsor for $1000.00. Your Sponsorship will be acknowledged on the Banquet banner, brochures and web site. All contributions from your company are greatly appreciated.

I realize your organization must receive many requests for donations each year. The QDMA, Ft. Bragg Branch, would like to thank you in advance for considering our needs.

I can be reached at espears@embarqmail.com or by phone at (910) 261-7439. Please visit our web site for more information about QDMA and our W3P Program.

Thank you so much for your time!

Best Regards,

Eddie Spears

Branch President

www.qdmafortbragg.com
Tags: <a

All should be proud that their efforts have been recognized.”

Established in 1961, the Ruffed Grouse Society is an international wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting conditions suitable for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and related wildlife to sustain our hunting tradition and outdoor heritage.

Information on the RGS, its mission, management projects, membership, and fundraising banquets can be found on the web at: www.ruffedgrousesociety.org.
Tags: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

MISSOULA, Mont --(Ammoland.com)- For the second year in a row, America’s premier charity watchdog has given its highest marks to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Only 21 percent of all U.S. charities have attained Charity Navigator’s coveted 4-star rating for two or more consecutive years. The achievement denotes RMEF’s exceptional ability to manage and grow finances—a key factor for donors selecting top-performing conservation organizations for philanthropic gifts.

Ratings data show RMEF spends just 6.7 percent on administrative costs, and 3 percent on fundraising costs. Therefore, more than 90 cents of every dollar that RMEF spends goes directly to its mission of ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat.

Charity Navigator President and CEO Ken Berger wrote, “Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

To review ratings of all charitable organizations, visit www.charitynavigator.org.

Details on the RMEF rating are at the link/URL: www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=4406

Profiled by Forbes, Business Week and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine, Charity Navigator estimates that it annually evaluates 10 times more charities than its nearest competitor, attracts more online visitors than all other rating groups combined, and influenced over $10 billion in charitable gifts over the past year.

About the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation:
Snowy peaks, dark timber basins and grassy meadows. RMEF is leading an elk country initiative that has conserved or enhanced habitat on over 5.8 million acres—a land area equivalent to a swath three miles wide and stretching along the entire Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico. RMEF also works to open, secure and improve public access for hunting, fishing and other recreation. Get involved at www.rmef.org or 800-CALL ELK.
Tags: U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance

Columbus, OH --(Ammoland.com)- The U. S. Sportsmen’s Alliance is proud to offer you a chance to WIN some fabulous prizes and support our grassroots network through the Sentry Sweepstakes.

Major companies have donated hundreds of prizes valued over $100,000 because they know the importance of preserving our way of life for future generations. They want to support our Sentry Program which is building a grassroots army from coast to coast to protect and advance hunting, fishing, shooting and trapping as well as getting more youth in the field.

Prizes include shotguns, bows, muzzleloaders, rifles, outdoor gear, optics and much, much more! Who couldn’t use a new truck, a new bow, a new shotgun or, better yet, CASH to help ensure a successful hunting season?

We are asking for your voluntary donation of $5.00 for one ticket or $20.00 for a book of four tickets. To participate, simply go online and make your contribution. Your stubs will be filled out and entered in the drawing that will take place on or around December 28, 2010.

Although no donation is necessary and a donation will not increase your odds of winning, we ask that you contribute to the Sentry Sweepstakes to help create a grassroots network of sportsmen and sportswomen working to protect our heritage today and tomorrow. Based on past sweepstakes and the amount of prizes offered this year, your chance to WIN a prize is approximately one in 200! Your chance of winning the Grand Prize is approximately one in 19,000.

Don’t miss out on your chance to get in on this great opportunity, so take a moment and enter today. All entries must be received by December 20, 2010. Thank you in advance for your support.

About:<br
