Whitetails Unlimited Has Sights on $50 Million in Project Funding
Thousands of projects of all sizes benefit from WTU’s fundraising efforts.

Whitetails Unlimited

Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin - -(AmmoLand.com)- Whitetails Unlimited is a nonprofit conservation organization that takes its mission seriously. Because of that, WTU’s national headquarters is looking forward to the new fiscal year as a milestone is fast approaching – $50 million generated from WTU fundraising activities and cost-share partnerships returned to local groups and used for projects.

“Our new fiscal year started July 1,” said WTU Executive Director Pete Gerl, “and we will soon hit the $50 million mark for cost-share dollars used for projects at grassroots level. By the end of this new fiscal year we will see a total of more than $10 million expended for educational purposes; over $17 million for habitat enhancement and acquisition; and more than $16.5 million to preserve the hunting tradition. In addition, research projects will have received more than $6.5 million.”

“Our list of projects range from A to Z,” said Dave Hawkey, vice president of field operations. “Through our events we fund thousands of individual projects every year, ranging from several hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. But whatever the size, all of these projects are important for those involved with them, and also important for their local communities.”

Whitetails Unlimited started in 1982 with a handful of events. This year over 400 events will involve more than 90,000 supporters, raising funds to fuel local, state, and regional projects.

About:
Founded in 1982, Whitetails Unlimited is a national nonprofit conservation organization. Our mission is to raise funds in support of education, habitat enhancement and acquisition, and the preservation of the hunting tradition for the benefit of the white-tailed deer and other wildlife. When it comes to the whitetail and its environment, WTU’s degree of professionalism and dedication has earned us the reputation of being the nation’s premier whitetail organization.

New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

New Jersey Outdoor Alliance

Mine Hill, NJ - -(AmmoLand.com)- The NJOA is an all volunteer organization. We’ve been advancing your freedoms to fish, hunt and trap in NJ. We’ve helped to create the NJ Angling & Hunting Conservation Caucus in Trenton. The caucus is comprised of legislators interested in outdoor freedoms. We’ve defended your hunting freedoms in Wall Township and on the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers. We’re advancing conservation education in Trenton and throughout the state.

We continue to make progress in educating officials that the traps should be removed from the reefs. USFWS, DEP and DFW agree – the reefs are meant for angling and spear fishing. The NJOA is reversing the pervasive culture of animal extremists and the brand of environmentalism that works to deny us our freedoms to fish.

We’ve helped to elect tree outdoor-minded legislators and the NJOA was a significant factor in getting the Sunday Bow hunting bill passed. We also have a full-time government affairs firm working on our behalf!
