Burris Company Names Sports Marketing South as Factory Rep

GREELEY, Colo. --(Ammoland.com)- The Burris Company is pleased to announce that Sports Marketing South will be representing both the Burris and Steiner optics brands in ten southeastern states.

Effective February 1, 2012, the new rep group will be responsible for sales to authorized dealers and distributors in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia.

Sports Marketing South has 10 sales professionals who will cover the territory for the Burris and Steiner brands with the goal of increasing and strengthening customer sales and service throughout the Southeast.

“We look forward to working with Skip Dahlstrom and his team of sales professionals,” said Rob Siemers, general manager at Burris Company. “Their long-standing relationships with distributors and key dealers throughout the southeast will help us increase our market share and significantly grow both brands.”

GREELEY, Colorado --(Ammoland.com)- In response to significant North American growth in the last year, Steiner has started a search for candidates to fill two new sales trainer positions.

These sale support positions will interact with Steiner retailers, dealers, sales personnel and customers around the United States.

Responsibilities will include product training and education, retail sales support, trade show participation, consumer/dealer interaction and company representation at dealer and industry events.

The territories for the two new candidates will be divided between the Eastern and Western United States and will involve extensive travel. Qualified candidates will need to be located near a major US airport. This is a salaried position with full corporate benefits.

Required qualifications:

  • Trustworthy and able to handle a high level of independence
  • Disciplined, organized, detail oriented
  • Professional demeanor
  • Excellent communications — verbal and written
  • Basic computer competency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to home office
  • Licensed driver and able to meet rental car company requirements
  • Eligible to obtain a passport and able to travel internationally
  • Free to travel extensively
  • Located within commuting distance of a major airport
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of the outdoors and the hunting avocation
  • Familiar with wants and needs of hunting consumers

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or relevant subject
  • Sporting goods retail or other hunting/outdoor market experience
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of binoculars & outdoor optics

Important considerations:

This is primarily a hunting-oriented position. Applicants who have no personal interest, experience, or exposure relative to the world of hunting will not be considered. A passion for hunting and fine hunting equipment is a must.

Travel is intensive. The position requires a certain level of energy, enthusiasm, and ability to function in an unstructured environment. If you enjoy travel and are able to travel extensively, often including weekends, then this job might be a good fit for you.
