WEST COLUMBIA, S.C.--(AmmoLand.com)- EOTAC, makers of the highest quality tactical and discreet garments available to operators, hosted a free Shooting Sports Clinic at the IDPA National Championship that was held at the United States Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Clinic gave competitors that shot the IDPA National Championship the opportunity to reshoot stages from the match but with coaching from Team EOTAC members Tom Yost, Bob Vogel, Massad Ayoob, Dave Harrington, Tom Carpenter, and Mark Redl. This was the third and largest clinic hosted by EOTAC.

“For Team EOTAC, it’s a pleasure giving back to the shooting community through these Clinics. The Team members are getting as much out of these Clinics as the participants are. It’s great to see the smiles on their faces as the participants learn new techniques,” said Tom Yost, Captain of Team EOTAC.

“As Team EOTAC members compete in matches across the country, we will continue to offer these free clinics. They are our way of further supporting the shooting sports and helping fellow shooters improve their skills,” said Fernando Coelho, President of EOTAC.

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — -(AmmoLand.com)- Team EOTAC’s Robert Vogel won the Enhanced Service Pistol title while posting the top overall score at the 2009 Smith and Wesson IPDA Indoor Nationals held February 19-21 in Springfield, Mass., at the Smith and Wesson Shooting Sports Center.

Vogel, who is a law enforcement officer in Wapakoneta, Ohio, won three of the 13 stages on his way to posting a final score of 150.72 and narrowly edging out Team Glock’s Dave Sevigny, winner of the Stock Service Pistol title, by just 1.14 points. It is the second year in a row Vogel has finished ahead of Sevigny for the top score in the match.

This was a great match thanks to the people at Smith and Wesson and another tough battle between me and Dave. I shot real solid early on going neck and neck with him into the final stages which neither of us shot very well. Fortunately I was lucky enough to come out a little over a second ahead to take the overall title,  said Vogel who won the Stock Service Pistol division title in 2008.

At Smith and Wesson we pride ourselves on our commitment to the shooting sports and our IPDA Indoor Nationals serve as a kick-off to the shooting season. I cannot think of a better kick-off than a head-to-head race between two great shooters. Our congratulations go to Bob Vogel on another fantastic victory and we look forward to seeing him back again next year when he goes for the three-peat, said Julie Golob of Smith and Wesson.

The Smith & Wesson IPDA Indoor Nationals is one of the more popular matches on the IDPA schedule and this year drew over 230 top shooters from around the country, including Vogel’s fellow Team EOTAC teammates Tom Yost and Mark Redl.

Both competed in the highly competitive SSP division. Yost, who serves as team captain for EOTAC, finished third behind Sevigny with a score of 205.92 capturing 2nd Master honors and placing tenth overall.

This was a great match with outstanding courses of fire, said Yost. What makes this match really stand out is the level of commitment from the factory. Smith andWesson rolls out the red carpet to welcome shooters and help build the shooting sports.
Redl, who finished 15th overall, ended the match six spots out of first to secure 5th Master with a score of 214.11.
