These guys are hunters and understand what hunters need, and work hard to develop innovative, high-quality gear at great prices. We’re happy to have them continue as a sponsor, and we look forward to building a strong relationship with them.”

Big Game Treestands is a leading manufacturer of tree stands and associated hunting and outdoor equipment, such as ladder stands, game carts, shooting benches, box blinds, feeders, and other gear for the hunter.

“Big Game Treestands is a great company to work with. They started out supporting WTU banquets in Missouri, and they’re now in their second year as a WTU national sponsor,” said WTU Field Director Dan Vogt. “Having a quality company like Big Game Treestands as a national sponsor helps tremendously in our nationwide conservation efforts.”

“We’ve featured items from the Big Game Treestands line at select WTU events last year, and they were a big hit,” said Dave Hawkey, WTU’s vice president of field operations. “They were very popular items with our members, because of the obvious quality and innovation that Big Game puts into their entire line of outdoor gear. In addition to their product at select events, they’ve sponsored the back cover of our event folders, which will keep their marketing message in front of our audience all year long.”
Ammoland.com)- You’ve heard the stories and perhaps even know someone who’s fallen from his or her treestand.

Such a fall without a safety harness can cause devastating injuries or even death.

Although harnesses are designed to stop your fall, what then? What will you do if you can’t get back into your stand?

Now you can put your fears of falling behind you with the Hunter Rescue Self Recovery Fall Arrest System. This full-body safety harness system is much more than just your basic safety harness. It was created for one and only one purpose – to allow the hunter to get to the ground in a controlled manner in the event of a fall from a treestand or other elevated platform. This system can also be used if your treestand has a catastrophic failure or if the two parts of your climbing stand become separated.

If you fall from your stand while wearing the Hunter Rescue System, you just have to locate the lanyard to the release arm and pull down. You will then travel down the rope to the ground.

Releasing the Hunter Rescue takes the same amount of force as initiating a pull up. A lighter person takes less force while a heavier person requires more. To stop, simply release the lanyard. The device will stop you automatically. It’s that simple!

The Hunter Rescue System can not only save your life, but it will provide you and your loved ones with a peace of mind that will make your hunting experience much more enjoyable.

FEATURES:

Hunter Rescue

Ease of Operation

You control descent

Reusable

45-300 weight range

One moving part

Works in all weather

Lifetime Warranty

Made in USA

Universal Harness

One size fits all

Quick release buckles

Made in USA

The Hunter Rescue Self Recovery System is comprised of :

The Hunter Rescue

A Full Body Harness for the Hunter

A Suspension Relief Device

30 ft of 9 mm Life Safety Rope

A Tree Strap

An Aluminum Screw Link Connector

For more information visit: Ammoland.com)- Predator Innovations, LLC has invented a better way to hang treestands with their new Hang-On Buddy Treestand Mounting System.

Not only does this unique product allow for an easier, safer way to hang and remove treestands but it also offers greater versatility in treestand placement.

This sturdy, easy to use product reduces the awkward, challenging and sometimes precarious task of installing a treestand.

Jason Werkheiser explains: “The Hang-On Buddy is a two part system consisting of a steel Mounting Base that is secured to the tree and Universal Mounting Hooks that are bolted onto the treestand. The Mounting Base is secured on the tree with a ratchet strap, where it can remain until ready to install the stand.

The Mounting Hooks are then easily hooked into the Base and further secured with a locking pin. What this allows is an easier, faster and safer installation and removal of the stand. It also allows the hunter to adapt more treestand positions to move easily when necessary. In addition, it helps eliminate the threat of treestand theft, as the treestand can be quickly taken down at the end of the day.”

The Hang-On Buddy is made of 1/8” plate steel and has been tested by independent testing firms for structural strength and validated to over 1400lbs.

Werkheiser continued: “The Hang-On Buddy receives praise from many hunters who see a quality product that is relatively inexpensive, light weight, convenient and easy to use. This allows them to install a treestand with greater safety and ease and allows them to move one treestand from base to base to match hunting conditions. Not to mention taking their treestand out of the woods with them and preventing theft.”

For information contact: Predator Innovations – 877-831-1525

For information on the Hang-On Buddy and Step Buddy please contact: Ammoland.com)- The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners today gave final approval to a regulatory change to allow the placement of portable hunting treestands and blinds from two weeks before the opening of the first big game season to two weeks after the close of the last big game season within each respective Wildlife Management Unit, excluding the spring gobbler season.

“Hunters need to remember that locating a treestand on State Game Lands does not reserve a hunting area,” Commissioner Weaner said. “The first person to arrive in a certain spot has the right to hunt that area.”

A portable treestand is one that is not permanently attached to a tree.

They include climbing, hang-on and ladder treestands, as well as those constructed and lashed to trees. Treestands nailed or bolted to trees are illegal on State Game Lands.

As approved, hunters will be able to place their treestands on State Game Lands two weeks prior to the archery deer season, and then have to remove the stands two weeks after the late flintlock deer seasons.
Tags: Ammoland.com)- Predator Innovations, LLC – inventor of a better way to hang treestands with their Hang-On Buddy Treestand Mounting System has announced it had lowered the retail price for its popular ‘Outfitter Pack’ from $71.99 to $62.99!

Company spokesman Jason Werkheiser made the announcement: “The Hang-On Buddy Universal Treestand Mounting System is made in the US and like all products the cost is the relationship between quantities and production procedures.

Due to the increase in demand for the Hang-On Buddy we were able to increase production and thus lower the per-unit costs. We are happy to be able to pass these savings on to our customers.”

The Hang-On Buddy is a strong treestand mounting system that enables the user to hang a treestand outfitted with the Mounting Hooks to the Mounting Bases that are secured to the tree. This enables the user to easily and more safely hang the treestand.

This also saves time, provides more versatility in stand locations, makes moving to multiple stand locations more easily and since the stand is easily installed and removed eliminates the worry of treestand theft. The Hang-On Buddy ‘Outfitter Pack’ includes one Pro Pack Mounting Hooks and two Mounting Bases.

For information on the Hang-On Buddy and Step Buddy please contact: Hunter Safety Systems

DANVILLE, AL --(Ammoland.com)- When Hunter Safety System opened its doors a decade ago, a new category in the sporting goods industry was born: the safety harness.

The idea behind the company back then was to make everyone’s treestand hunting experience as safe as possible, and that idea is still the primary motivation today.

It all began during the 2000 hunting season when Alabama whitetail hunter John Wydner’s treestand slipped out from underneath him.

Wydner saved his own life by grabbing a tree branch and hanging on for dear life, while watching his treestand crash to the forest floor, some 25 feet below. Wydner slowly slid down the tree trunk and made his way to camp, bloodied and shaken.

Back in the warmth of the hunting cabin, Wydner explained his brush with death to his hunting companions, brother Jerry Wydner and nephew Jerrod Karr. Soon, John, Jerry and life-long friend, Jim Barta found themselves surrounded by sketches as they brainstormed the concept of an easy-to-use and comfortable safety harness. That collaboration and those designs would very quickly change the course of the three men’s lives—and later save many thousands more from injury or death.

HSS’s Ultra Lite Safety Harness

In early 2001, Hunter Safety System was born as new safety harness prototypes were produced and tested. What initially began as an ambitious effort by two brothers and a close friend, later culminated in a new era of treestand safety with HSS becoming the industry-leading manufacturer of safety harnesses and accessories.

Before the introduction of the HSS safety harness, hunters struggled with hard-to-use fall-restraint products, they simply put a rope around themselves or, as in the case of John Wydner, they didn’t use anything at all. Now, a variety of harnesses certified to TMA standards are on the market, making treestand hunting much safer for everyone.

“Hunter Safety System’s 10-year anniversary represents a triumph in innovative vision and determined execution by three men to keep hunters safer while hunting from treestands,” said David Langston, HSS director of sales and marketing. “It is through their vision that this category was born, and so many lives have been saved. At HSS, we will continue to develop products that will keep our hunters coming home to their families and friends, night after night.”

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Danville, Alabama, Hunter Safety System is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative deer hunting gear and hunting equipment for the serious hunter. There were scrapes and trails everywhere. I set up the GB about 30 yards across from the scrapes and sat down and got quiet.

After the fog lifted I saw a yearling buck walk across the sendero and back in the woods. Meanwhile I just happen to glance to my right and saw 2 mature buck back behind the oak trees.

The first buck was a young 8 point and the second was the biggest 6 point I had ever seen. They ducked back into the cover and I lost them for a few minutes, next thing I knew here comes the “Big 6″ working the scrape line that I was hunting. He had no idea that I was even there, he took his time inching his way down into bow range. As soon as he was within 30 yards, I drew my Elite bow back and released the arrow.

The 5.5 year old, “Big 6″ never knew what hit him, he ran about 300 yards and crumpled. Six points or not, he was a bonifed ‘monster,’ scoring 122 6/8″ (see picture).

This year my success continued with the harvest of a “True Texas Monster.” Will Echart 2010

HSS 300 Ultra Lite Harness.

There have been no reported incidents involving these carabineers; however, based on the high standards that Hunter Safety System requires, the company feels it is necessary to issue a voluntary recall based on recent findings. Through rigorous testing, it became apparent that the carabineer gate retention pins can inadvertently detach, permitting the carabineer gate to open and creating the possibility of the treestrap or lineman’s climbing strap to release from the carabineer, thereby allowing the user to fall.

“We feel this product does not meet our safety standards,” said John Wydner, HSS co-owner and president. “For this reason we are replacing all carabineers that were included with the HSS 300 Ultra Lite Harnesses free of charge, including shipping. Although we have not had any reports of this happening outside our factory, we are issuing this voluntary recall to maintain the highest possible product-quality standards for all of our customers.”

<div

All owners and users of the HSS 300 Ultra Lite Harness are directed to immediately discontinue use of the carabineers and the included Lineman’s Climbing Strap, and they should contact Hunter Safety System at 877-296-3528 for a carabineer exchange.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our loyal customers,” Wydner said.

“We are doing everything in our power to make this exchange as easy as possible; however, we want everyone to be safe. Constructed of triangular tubing, the platform easily supports up to 300 pounds.

Noted as the easiest hang-on stand to set up, the M100′s specially designed male seat fitting slips into the Cam-Lock Receiver easily and quietly so you can be hunting within seconds.

This system allows the hunter to securely set the receiver on the tree at the desired height and then place the stand into the receiver. The secure receiver chain with a Cam-Lock system ensures the stand is always solidly secured to any location without penetrating or damaging the tree.

Exclusively designed for The New Millennium, all-aluminum tubing and extrusions are fluted to reduce weight. The stand features all-welded seams for superior strength and construction – no bolts here. The permanently mounted bungee strap keeps the folded stand securely closed during transport, and thanks to the feather-light, all-aluminum construction, the stand weighs only 14 pounds, which makes toting it through the woods a breeze.
<div

Kemper had an unattached tree stand safety harness near him when he was discovered. Kemper’s body was transport to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. NRP’s Special Operations Division will continue to investigate accident.

NRP investigated 12 hunting accidents during FY2010 and 14 hunting accidents during FY2009. Tree stand accidents totaled six and seven respectively during those years. NRP urge hunters should read, understand, and practice manufactures recommendations before using any climbing equipment or tree stands. Hunters should always use a full body harness as part of the overall safety restraint system during tree stand use. More information can be found at Treestand Manufacturer’s Association

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi --(Ammoland.com)- Representatives from Hunter Safety System and the Treestand Manufacturer’s Association conducted hands-on treestand safety demonstrations for hunter education coordinators and volunteer instructors at the 2010 International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) Annual Conference in Estes Park, Colorado, June 2-5.

But the big news for the TMA was IHEA’s adoption of new treestand safety standards on the last day of the conference.

On Friday, June 4, TMA representatives participated in the IHEA Standards Committee meeting to discuss proposed treestand safety standards. Then, at the IHEA business meeting on Saturday, June 5, state representatives unanimously approved the treestand safety standards as put forth by the Standards Committee.

“TMA is extremely excited that the members of IHEA have voted to adopt treestand safety standards for hunter education,” said John Louk, executive director of the TMA.

“Incorporating treestand safety in the hunter education programs throughout all 50 states will be a major factor in reducing the number of treestand incidents.

“As a member of TMA in the Manufacturing Class, Hunter Safety System’s show of support to state agencies and IHEA played a key role in the adoption of treestand safety standards which will benefit the entire membership and also encourage states to establish and teach a more consistent message related to treestand safety,” Louk concluded.

The TMA operates as a Non-profit 501(c)(6) which specifically devotes its resources to promote treestand safety. It endeavors to improve treestand safety by education in the proper use of treestands, the development of treestand manufacturing standards, product testing, manufacturing quality control and the promotion of mandatory use of Fall Arrest Systems/Full Body Harness devices. Further, the TMA pursues its members to actively seek certification of conformance to association standards on all treestand products. Visit: <a
