Pre-Game Hunting Season a Great Time of Year

WACO, Texas --(Ammoland.com)- Can you believe it? Its already August! This is a great time of year, as it signifies a sort of “Pre-Game” to all the seasons ahead of us.

No, not just Fall and Winter, but dove season, deer season, duck season, turkey season, quail season and, of course, none of these would be the same without football season.

For us here at GMS, there is no better way to kick off the upcoming seasons than attending the Texas Deer Association’s annual convention held in San Antonio, Texas. August 26th -28th. This gives us a great opportunity to get in front of our clients and demonstrate all of the new features that GMS has to offer. We have been working hard to fulfill the needs of our clients, adding new features and enhancements that continue to keep GMS in the forefront of this industry when it comes to technology.

One of the most exciting features that has just been introduced and has caused quite a buzz among our clients is the ability to send your DNA request forms directly to DNA Solutions of Oklahoma, electronically. That’s correct — with a few clicks of your mouse you can send the request forms directly from your GMS software program. The feedback we are getting is unbelievable. Clients are reporting that they are sending hundreds of samples within minutes. The time savings of not having to manually fill out each request has exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Each year at this event we host a training session for GMS clients wishing to learn more about the features of our products. We strive to demonstrate all of the latest features and answer any questions that anyone has as to how to use our products more efficiently. This year TDA has allowed us a three-hour time frame on Thursday 26th from 9 am to 12 noon to demonstrate and train you on the “latest and greatest” features in GMS.

Our main focus during this session is to get everyone up to speed on how to use the new feature that allows you to electronically send your DNA request forms. There will be a staff member from DNA solutions that will be present to discuss what happens once the form is received and the process that takes place from that point on. And of course, we will review all of the latest and greatest features along with plenty of Q&A.

We are also excited about this year’s TDA convention, as we will now have a NEW booth location. We will now be located where the previous year’s TDA registration booth was located!

We plan to have plenty of room for additional training, tech support or whatever your needs may be with your GMS product. So stop by and see us.

Jerry Johnston is well-known across the country as one of the leading visionaries of the deer industry. In 1975, Jerry Johnston founded the Texas Trophy Hunters Association, an organization which today brings together tens of thousands of deer hunters to learn from one another, share stories, and work together to protect and promote a hunting heritage.

He was a founding father of the Texas Deer Association, which was housed and managed out of the Texas Trophy Hunters office for several years before becoming a stand alone association. TDA is one of the nation’s largest organizations dedicated to deer farming and improving the quality of the Texas deer herd. Johnston also has the unique distinction of receiving the Wild Life Conservation Award in Mexico — only American to ever receive the award — and he is the only person within the private sector to have had a Wildlife Endowment Fund named after him at Texas A & M University.

Today, Johnston owns and operates Johnston Trophy Whitetails with his wife, Theresa. Johnston Whitetails was founded in 1996 and is located in Medina County near Castroville, Texas.
