Organizational meeting to be held in Manistee

Ruffed Grouse Society

Michigan – -( Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) will host an organizational meeting at the Boathouse Grill, 440 River Street, Manistee, Michigan on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

According to RGS Regional Director, Doug Doherty the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the formation of a new chapter in the immediate and/or surrounding area.

“Michigan has lost a tremendous amount of grouse and woodcock habitat over the years, but as is evident by the restoration work RGS has done in other locations the situation can be corrected. All it takes is a desire to make it happen,” Doherty said.

“We encourage all upland bird hunters and other conservation-minded people to join us for appetizers and refreshments at the Boathouse Grill in Manistee as we discuss establishing a chapter in this area,” Doherty continued.

For more information and/or directions contact Doherty at 231-549-5063 or by e-mail at [email protected] .

Established in 1961, the Ruffed Grouse Society is the one international wildlife conservation organization dedicated to promoting conditions suitable for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and related wildlife to sustain our sport hunting tradition and outdoor heritage.
