At Wilson Combat The Theme Is Accuracy
Berryville, AR – -(AmmoLand.com)- For this month the theme is accuracy. For the guys here at Wilson Combat that is easy, it is built into every gun they hand build. Every day I get emails and phone calls from our customers sharing their accounts of “great” feats that they accomplish with their new Wilson product. As a guy who has been shooting Wilson guns for years, even long before I joined the company, I can attest to their tales.
We hold our guns to standards that make other makers flinch. If you have not looked at your test fire target lately, remember one of our guys shot that group off a sand bag; we do not use a machine rest of any kind. When using good quality ammo, our pistols will not only feed like a dream, they will shoot a group that would make anyone proud. If the shooter does his part, I know that our guns will do theirs. When you start with the highest quality parts, add decades of skill, you get a firearm that has it all. This combination gives you all that you need to get every bit out of a gun.
Over the years I have been asked what makes our product better than the others. Simple answer is that we actually use them. When you see “made by shooters for shooters” we mean it. We know what a custom firearm should be capable of because we shoot them. Most of us here have spent time as competition shooters, some in the military, and some in law enforcement. We are gun people. Our founder, Bill Wilson shoots, hunts, and reloads as a part of his every day routine. You can’t be in this business if you don’t love it. As for the rest of us we hunt, shoot, and support the activities of both daily.
What question do we ask every time we come up with a new product idea? Will it shoot, will is function; will it be better than what we have now? Same with accuracy, if it will not perform as we insist that is should, it is out. Our products have to meet our standards before they get a chance to meet your standards. It is just that simple for us.
Any time I forget how cool a job I have, I write one of these for the Down range and am reminded how I get to do what I love every day. Most of the folks that work here enjoy their job almost as much as I do. After all the years I have been here it is so cool to deliver a new gun to a brand new customer and see how all of our hard work pays off. Get a chance to see that spark in their eyes, and with luck I will be there when they fire the first shots and I get to see them really light up. I have gotten so many targets from satisfied customers over the years that I have run out of room to keep them all. Our customers become like family and keep us up to date on what is happening in their lives. We still service customers that have been with us since the very start. How cool is that??
Please take a minute and look over the “No Name Pistol”. This is what happens when you get some gun guys who like to shoot and give them to opportunity to design something new. I can’t wait for someone to pick the winning name so I can deliver it to them and see how much they enjoy what we think will be a real winner for anyone looking for a higher capacity, light weight pistol with most of the bells and whistles right from the start. I forgot to mention, with all that you expect from a Wilson Combat pistol built right in.
Till next time,
Stay safe, shoot straight, and always watch Six!
