CSF Reception Welcomes Caucus Members To 111th Congress
Washington, DC – -(AmmoLand.com)- The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation celebrated the return of sportsman legislators to Washington for the 111th Congress Tuesday night with a “Welcome To Congress” reception at the Rayburn Building.
Over thirty members of the United States Congress joined together for this yearly gathering of hunting, fishing, and conservation leaders, policy makers, and industry representatives.
“I never thought as a young boy growing up in Oklahoma, shooting at my first deer, that one day I would be standing here as one of the leaders of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus,” said Caucus Co-Chair Congressman Dan Boren.
“It is great to see the leaders in this room who have done so much to preserve and protect hunting and fishing rights and habitat. It is an honor to be a part of the largest bi-partisan caucus of any kind in Congress,” said Caucus Co-Chair Congressman Paul Ryan.
This event is held to introduce newly elected representatives to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus as well as welcome past and present caucus members. This year’s reception reflected on the 20th Anniversary of CSF, and focused on legislative issues coming before the 111th Congress.
“As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary as an organization, we also celebrate the accomplishments and dedication of our Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus members as they continue to lead the way in improving hunting, fishing, and conservation opportunities,” said CSF President Jeff Crane.
This year’s event was sponsored by CropLife, ETA, Oracle, Wal-Mart, and Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America and for the second year in a row featured renowned decoy carver Warren Saunders.
Headquartered in Washington, DC just steps from the U.S. Capitol, CSF’s sole focus is providing access and a voice for sportsmen in the U.S. Congress, the Administration and federal land management agencies, as well as state legislatures across the country. With support from every major hunting and fishing organization and industry, CSF is the leader in promoting sportsmen’s issues with elected officials.
