MILAN, IL – -(AmmoLand.com)- Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT), an Illinois-based company that designs, prototypes, and manufactures small arms accessories and tooling components for military, government, law enforcement, commercial manufacturers and responsible civilians, has introduced the first dual conversion operating system allowing operators to quickly change a direct gas impingement to a piston system operation to fit any scenario.
The innovative design builds upon LMT’s well-known Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP) System to offer higher accuracy and quality. The Piston Weapon System uses the Close Quarter Battle (CQB) MRP with exchangeable upper and lower receivers and barrel options for a custom-built rifle. Assembly and disassembly is quick and easy, making LMT adaptable in any situation. All components are compatible with AR/M4/M16 and E3- type weapons.
After years of calculated testing, the new technology provides the greatest choice in multi-caliber and ammunition options that support a suppressor. All systems provide adaptability to tactical accessory upgrades for direct gas impingement and piston systems. Operators can now custom build rifles that are available at standard production price.
The dual operating system maintains the reliability that LMT products are known for worldwide. The convertible caliber uses an easy-to-access, free-floating barrel inside a durable, one-piece receiver machined from a solid forging for maximum strength and durability. All bolts and barrels are mag particle inspected and proof tested to mil-spec standards.
