SMYRNA, Georgia – -(AmmoLand.com)- The IDPA Indoor National Championships were held February 19-21, 2009 at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, MA. More than 230 competitors entered the three day defensive pistol event. Dave Sevigny of Team GLOCK earned another decisive win in the Stock Service

Pistol division with a final score of 151.86 seconds. Sevigny has now won the prestigious pistol event six times. Randi Rogers of Team GLOCK made her debut at the IDPA Indoor Nationals, winning the High Lady category at 12th overall in the Stock Service Master class with a final score of 253.74 seconds.

The Indoor Nationals consisted of 13 courses of fire in which competitors performed tasks such as drawing and reloading a handgun from concealment, shooting from cover positions, shooting on the move and the use of flashlights to identify targets in low light conditions.

“Shooting the IDPA Indoor Nationals brought on an exciting set of new challenges. I really learned a lot about using a hand held light while shooting and look forward to practicing with it more in the future,” said Rogers.

The IDPA Stock Service Pistol (SSP) division once again fielded the largest group of competitors. Nearly half of the total match chose to compete in SSP where GLOCK has been #1 in both quantity and accomplishments.

“Statistics have proven GLOCK to be the most popular brand of pistol used in stock competition. When going for a title, your equipment must run 100% of the time to be a contender. With a GLOCK you can have that confidence and concentrate on the shooting,” says Sevigny who also is the reigning and 7-time IDPA National champion, all won with a GLOCK.

Both Sevigny and Rogers used a G34 chambered in 9×19 at the Indoor Nationals. “Congratulations to Dave on another repeat win and Randi for her first title at the IDPA Indoor National Championship,” said Director of Marketing Stephanie Plumecocq at GLOCK, Inc.

“This is a great start to the 2009 season and we look forward to many more wins for Team GLOCK this year.” Team GLOCK will next compete at the US Steel Challenge Nationals in Titusville, FL on March 26-29, 2009.
