SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – -(AmmoLand.com)- Smith & Wesson Corp., announced today that Team Smith & Wesson members Annette Aysen and David Olhasso earned top honors during the 8th International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) International Postal Match. For the third consecutive year, Aysen earned the Limited Top Lady title while fellow teammate David Olhasso placed first in the Open Division.

This year’s ICORE International Postal Match was conducted at 27 clubs across three countries and featured 337 shooters in two divisions. Team Smith & Wesson members competed at their local ranges, as did the other division shooters from across the United States, Australia and Switzerland. Also competing in this year’s match for Smith & Wesson was Elliot Aysen, who competed in the Limited Division and placed 3rd overall versus 238 other competitors.

As part of the annual match, each participant competed at various ranges throughout the three countries in accordance with ICORE rules. The match consisted of four stages of fire involving stationary targets as competitors were judged on both speed and accuracy. Upon completion of the match, competitors mailed in their scores to the ICORE main offices over the designated period.

“For me, the ICORE Postal Match has always been a great way to kick off a new season,” said Annette Aysen, member of Team Smith & Wesson. “Not only does the match allow me to get back into my competitive routine, but it also allows me to see where I rank against a large number of competitors from across the globe. By keeping things simple, more competitors and ranges have a chance to get involved. Overall, I am very pleased with my performance and I hope to keep the positive momentum going throughout the rest of the 2009 season.”

Aysen completed the International Postal Match at the Southern Shooting Center in her hometown of Thibodaux, Louisiana. While competing, Aysen used her Smith & Wesson Model 627 revolver to win her third Top Lady Limited title. Olhasso, competing with a Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 627, completed the match in Allentown, PA, at the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club.
