COLUMBIA, MO – -(AmmoLand.com)- NRA’s Competitive Shooting Division is pleased to announce that Colt will return as a sponsor of the NRA Action Pistol Championship, also known as the NRA Bianchi Cup, in Columbia, MO, May 18-23, 2009.

“Colt is once again proud to sponsor the NRA Bianchi Cup. As one of the original sponsors, Colt is pleased to reassert its continuing commitment to its customers with sponsorship of the 2009 30th Anniversary NRA Bianchi Cup,” said Joyce Rubino, Colt’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

One of the world’s leading firearms manufacturers, Colt’s 168-year history includes the Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol, defining the standard for modern day .45 semi-automatic pistols. NRA Bianchi Cup competitors have prominently used Colt pistols and other 1911-style handguns over the past 30 years.

Colt provided instrumental support for the event as one of the original sponsors for the NRA Bianchi Cup in 1979. Now celebrating 30 years of success, the NRA Bianchi Cup welcomes Colt as a returning sponsor for the Metallic Division Championship and Ray Chapman “Nostalgia” Match.

“Colt and NRA are two of the oldest made-in-America brands in the firearms industry and we are honored to continue our long-time competitive shooting partnership with Colt’s sponsorship of the NRA Bianchi Cup,” said Mike Krei, Director of NRA’s Competitive Shooting Division.
