Oshkosh, Wisconsin – -(OutDoorWire.com)-  The Fox River Valley Chapter of Pheasants Forever (PF) will host its 20th Annual Banquet on Friday, March 13th at the newly-renovated Oshkosh Convention Center on the shores of the Fox River in downtown Oshkosh. Doors open at 5 PM with dinner, raffles, games and live and silent auctions to follow. All proceeds from the event go to the Fox River Valley chapter’s wildlife habitat and youth conservation efforts.

PF is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs. PF is the only national conservation organization that empowers local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally-raised conservation funds are spent.

Since forming, the Fox River Valley Chapter of PF has completed 553 wildlife habitat projects benefitting wildlife on over 3,500 acres. The past year was a banner one for the chapter as they completed their third land purchase and donated 50 acres of restored prairie to the people of Wisconsin. The chapter is also involved with PF’s No Child Left Indoors® initiative, which is carried out through youth habitat projects, youth and family community events and youth outdoor education programs hosted by chapters across the country. In fact, this past December the Fox River Valley chapter hosted its 10th annual Youth Day which featured trap shooting, gun safety seminars, and habitat biology sessions and culminated with a great pheasant hunt for nearly 70 kids.

“The beauty of Pheasants Forever is the local approach to conservation,” said chapter president Leo Kolaszewski, “Our chapter is comprised of an extremely dedicated and hard working core of volunteers that have been amazingly successful at putting habitat on the ground.”
