J.P. Sauer & Sohn – -(AmmoLand.com)- After the great success of the “Meisterwerkflinte“ in 2005, master gunsmith Marko Frühauf created with a lot of love for little details and handwork a second side-by-side – this time with a boxlock.

He looks back in the history of Sauer & Sohn (Suhl) and builts up a mixture between the historical Models XIV and VIII, that now shows up in the new SAUER Model IX, which will very easy find the attention of the shotgun connoisseurs all over the world.

Heart of the construction is the famous boxlock from Kerner with the above located trigger bars, which help to get a better leverage effect and smother trigger pull. The receiver is done from forged steel. The locking system works over the double underlug and the Greener-action. The ejectors are Holland & Hollandtype.

The Model IX has a 20/76 caliber and 71 cm (28 Inch) barrels with a quarterand a half-choke to use even steelshots.

The English style stock of stockwood category 7 has a handmade checkering and has been handpolished for hours. A neutral butt plate is standard, but customers can also have a horn butt plate or a handcrafted checkering. All the engravings are done by master engraver Hendrik Frühauf. Around the old SAUER-logo on the bottom he engraves decent arabesques, but varies a little bit from shotgun to shotgun, so that they all will become unique.

Even a case hardened version is planed – but typical for SAUER INDIVIDUAL – all individual ideas and wishes can come true.
