BEAVERTON, Ore. – -(AmmoLand.com)-Ideal for hunting in areas that prohibit magnifying sights, Leupold’s® Prismatic® 1x14mm Hunting riflescope now offers a new illuminated DCD™ reticle option designed to facilitate faster target acquisition.

The illuminated Leupold DCD reticle has a dot, an inner circle and an outer circle. The inner circle surrounds the dot with a line that is twice as thick as the outer circle’s line. When the user peers through the Prismatic, the reticle’s circles immediately draw the eye to the center, with the thicker line of the inner circle quickly fixing the eye on the “sweet spot” of the target.

“If you hunt turkey, boar, deer or predators, particularly in states that do not permit magnifying sights, then our Prismatic riflescope with the illuminated DCD reticle is a great choice,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “It’s also well suited for use on AR-15s and in the action shooting sports, where fast target acquisition is critical.”

The 1x true power of the Prismatic Hunting riflescope makes it legal in areas that prohibit magnifying sights. With an etched glass reticle that is visible (in black) without battery power, the Prismatic distinguishes itself from battery-dependent red dot sights. The Prismatic has a removable module that, when installed, illuminates the reticle in red.

Other features contributing to fast target acquisition with the Prismatic are a wider field of view (8.3 feet at 100 yards) than competitive red dot sights, as well as “both eyes open” sighting capability.

The Prismatic passes the most stringent ruggedness testing of any Leupold scope ever built, allowing it to withstand the heaviest magnum loads with no shift in the point of aim. It is completely waterproof, shockproof and fog proof.

A focusing eyepiece allows the Prismatic to be easily adjusted and used by anyone. Windage and elevation adjustment dials have ½-MOA click adjustments, making it easy to zero. The slotted dials are easily moved with the edge of the adjustment cover or a coin.

Other key Prismatic specifications include:

  • Mounting options – compatible with A.R.M.S.® #22-34mm throw lever rings base and spacer system as well as conventional 30mm rings.
  • integrated base system – three different heights of mounting spacers are included, allowing the Prismatic to work on a variety of firearms.
  • Leupold’s Index Matched Lens System® for superior image brightness and resolution.
  • DiamondCoat 2™ lens coatings exceed the military’s durability standard with 500 rub performance.
  • lightweight – only 12 ounces total.
  • compact size – 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) in length.

The Prismatic 1x14mm Hunting riflescope is available in matte black or Leupold’s Dark Earth® finish, which blends in well with any camouflage or terrain. In addition to the Illuminated DCD, an Illuminated Circle Plex® reticle option is offered.
All Prismatic models are backed by Leupold’s Full Lifetime Guarantee with a two-year warranty on the electronics.
