Morgan, Utah – -( Heated clothing technology finally comes of age for hunters with Browning’s new AddHeat system that will be offered in selected Browning apparel items for 2009. The days of heavy battery packs, clumsy controllers and short battery life are over.

At the core of the new AddHeat system is the heating element located in the upper back of a compatible garment, right where it can effectively maintain core body temperature. In addition to the body, several popular Browning jackets and parkas feature heating elements in the pockets to distribute heat and provide warmth for hands and fingers.

The Browning AddHeat system is comprised of the flexible, lightweight washable heating element found in the garment and the AddHeat Power Pack. The Power Pack includes a compact, rechargeable Li-ion battery that provides up to 5.5 hours of continuous body-warming heat, a simple to use “intelligent” Micro-CPU controller and 110-220 VAC charger.

The Power Pack is not included with AddHeat garments and must be purchased separately. This allows the consumer to purchase a single Power Pack to use with the garment(s) of their choice. The system is conveniently recharged with either a 110-220 VAC charger or with an optional 12VDC vehicle charger. Additional batteries are available to provide as much additional heat as needed. The battery weighs a mere 4.23 ounces and can be recharged up to 500 times.

Browning will offer an AddHeat Vest with the new AddHeat Heating System. The vest is constructed of a soft, quiet fleece outer shell with a brushed tricot inner lining. Taking care of the AddHeat Vest is very simple. Just remove the battery and controller and then hand wash and line dry the garment as often as necessary. Available in sizes S-3XL in Olive. Suggested Retail $100.00 – $126.00.
