A Match-Grade Match – DoubleStar Combat Pistol and Storm Lake Barrels
DoubleStar Corp- -(AmmoLand.com)- Jesse Starnes, vice-president of DoubleStar Corp., continues his mission to build a match-quality 1911 pistol at a fair price. Starnes recently announced a contract agreement between DoubleStar Corporation and Storm Lake Barrels.
“We are producing a high-quality 1911 that delivers match-gun performance at a production price,” Starnes said. “We have accomplished that and more by fitting DoubleStar’s 1911 with Storm Lake’s American made match-grade barrels.”
DoubleStar’s Combat Pistol features components from such prominent names in the shooting sports industry as Novak, Ed Brown, Stryder and Greider. Another piece to the perfect pistol puzzle has been added by using the match-quality barrels provided by Storm Lake Barrels. “These barrels meet DoubleStar’s high standards, and Storm Lake Barrels is more than capable of keeping pace with the incredible response DoubleStar has had for our Combat Pistol,” said Starnes.
Starnes worked directly with David Tarlton, president of Storm Lake Barrels, to ensure that DoubleStar’s exact standards are met. Storm Lake Barrels is a Tennessee-based manufacturer specializing in pistol barrels. They have been recognized for quality craftsmanship and accuracy since 1983.
The barrels are made from select 416R stainless steel bar stock and hardened to 40-42 HRC. The material is completely machined, bored, heat treated, rifled, and finished using precision CNC machinery at the Lenoir City, Tennessee facility.
