New Berlin, WI – -( Sportsman Channel announced today the launch of an exclusive new series—Tactical Arms—to debut Tuesday, June 30, as part of more than 65 original series episodes being supplied to the network by parent company InterMedia Outdoors (IMO) for the third quarter of 2009. The network’s Q3 lineup also features new show debuts from several independent production companies, including industry icon Mossy Oak Productions and seasoned producer Team Fitzgerald TV. In total, Sportsman will debut more than 500 original series episodes and 15 new shows.

Tactical Arms, which offers a unique exploration of modern weapons, from machine guns to battle rifles to combat pistols, will have its primary airing on Thursday nights at 9:30 pm ET during the network’s “Thursday Night Shooting” lineup presented by Midway USA. Each episode is devoted exclusively to one tactical firearm platform, and the expert hosts reveal each gun’s true anatomy and performance DNA. Tactical Arms joins the network’s other critically acclaimed tactical show, Tactical Impact, as the only tactical shows offered to sportsmen on television. Tactical Impact will return in Q4 for its second season.

Also new to Sportsman is an original series from Mossy Oak Productions called Anchor Point; the introduction of the bowhunting father and son combo of Team Fitzgerald TV, and the first TV show focusing on air guns called American Airgunner. Additional programming debuts on Sportsman include: Hunting University, Deer TV, No Fences, Heartland Bowhunter, The Rule, The Fowl Life, Powder Horn Montana TV, and Factory to Field.

This year, IMO will supply more than 230 episodes of original programming to the network, including 65 episodes in Q3, and 78 in Q4. Tactical Arms will join an award-winning programming lineup that includes new episodes from established series Guns & Ammo (now entering its seventh season), North American Whitetail (sixth season), Bowhunter TV (fifth season), and Petersen’s Hunting (fourth season).

Sportsman Channel is currently available to more than 17 million homes, after announcing several distribution agreements during the past several quarters, including with DIRECTV and Bright House. Sportsman Channel is poised to make several additional carriage announcements throughout the remainder of the year.
