COLUMBUS, OH –-( Ohio shutterbugs are encouraged to enter their best Baltimore oriole photos in the first Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp photo contest. The winning photograph of this colorful orange-and-black bird will be featured on the inaugural Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp to be issued March 1, 2010.

“This stamp was developed because we know that there are Ohioans who want to help in our wildlife-conservation efforts,” said David M. Graham, chief of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

The $15 Ohio Wildlife Legacy Stamp will be available for purchase online in March at By purchasing the stamp, you will be supporting vital habitat restoration and research projects, land purchases and conservation easements and educational products for students and wildlife enthusiasts.

A new, collectible stamp depicting a different animal will be issued each year to highlight the diversity of Ohio’s natural world.
