NSSF Launches New Membership Campaign
NEWTOWN, Conn –-(AmmoLand.com)- NSSF is heading into the New Year with a push to gain greater membership. A new, multi-faceted membership campaign is being launched with print, electronic and new media elements.
In the print campaign, the headlines are designed to be impactful toward business, passion for our industry and educating prospects more about NSSF. The copy gives all the specific reasons to join NSSF, but doesn’t get into the tactical or commodity-based incentives that are included with their membership, such as shipping discounts or free publications and services.
The campaign will be introduced in the 2010 SHOT Show Directory with a two-page spread. However, NSSF will employ a unique introduction after the SHOT Show by running this campaign in consecutive one-third page ads in the leading trade magazines.
“This gains greater attention to the specific messages and has more impact as a reader flips through our trade magazines. The third-page execution is attention-getting yet has the impact of full page advertising because no other ads can appear on the page to compete with our message,” said Mark Thomas, NSSF managing director of marketing communications. “We will follow this one-third page execution up with full-page ads. We will begin running a full campaign in the trade magazines in early 2010.”
The print campaign will be augmented with a new video presentation on membership. NSSF worked with an outside vendor, Angel Vision, to produce a short video detailing why companies should become NSSF members. This video will be the focus of the new membership section on the Web site and a staple in all electronic news mailings, such as Bullet Points and SHOT Show Blast. This video can be viewed at nssf.org/impactmovie.
To gain a strong call to action and better illustrate some of the work NSSF does, the trade association for the firearm industry is going to offer its Government Relations Update e-newsletter to anyone becoming a member from now until the SHOT Show. In the past, the Government Relations Update has been exclusive to select NSSF members to keep them apprised of our legislative and lobbying efforts. For any questions about the campaign, feel free to contact Mark Thomas at [email protected].
