Jerry Johnston Endorses GMS Game Management Software
WACO, Texas –-(AmmoLand.com)- The deer industry’s leading game management tool, GMS continues to demonstrate why it is the preferred choice among hunters, land managers, ranchers and deer breeders across the country.
GMS announces it has received the endorsement of Jerry Johnston, prominent deer breeder and founder of the Texas Deer Association and Texas Trophy Hunters Association.
“As hunters and deer breeders, we have used every product on the market to better manage our property and deer. GMS game management software is extremely easy to use and allows Theresa (wife) and I a way to efficiently keep track of the records and information that is critical to running a successful hunting ranch and deer breeding operation. Whether it’s scheduling hunts, quantifying herd ratios or simply recording new fawns in the field, GMS is the best game management tool you can have.
To put it simply…it is user-friendly to Red Necks like me!”
Jerry Johnston is well-known across the country as one of the leading visionaries of the deer industry. In 1975, Jerry Johnston founded the Texas Trophy Hunters Association, an organization which today brings together tens of thousands of deer hunters to learn from one another, share stories, and work together to protect and promote a hunting heritage.
He was a founding father of the Texas Deer Association, which was housed and managed out of the Texas Trophy Hunters office for several years before becoming a stand alone association. TDA is one of the nation’s largest organizations dedicated to deer farming and improving the quality of the Texas deer herd. Johnston also has the unique distinction of receiving the Wild Life Conservation Award in Mexico — only American to ever receive the award — and he is the only person within the private sector to have had a Wildlife Endowment Fund named after him at Texas A & M University.
Today, Johnston owns and operates Johnston Trophy Whitetails with his wife, Theresa. Johnston Whitetails was founded in 1996 and is located in Medina County near Castroville, Texas. The ranch currently hosts more than 300 whitetail deer, including ‘Black Jack,’ who recently scored 280 B&C at 3.5-years old.
“Receiving a public endorsement from Jerry Johnston is very humbling,” says Mike Owens, president of GMS. “Among hunters, game managers and deer breeders, he is extremely well-respected and he has been a leader in this industry for more than 30 years. His feedback over the years as a customer and his support as an industry professional has made a significant impact on the quality and functionality of our GMS software.”
GMS software is considered by most industry experts to be the most user-friendly game management software on the market today. GMS helps hunting operations and land owners manage properties whose focus is on quality deer and game management (including deer farmers/breeders), organize and maintain all of the pertinent information needed to manage a successful ranch. Innovative and comprehensive, the GMS program allows users to begin quality deer management, track all aspects of a hunting property, develop plans to help maximize herd health, quantify herd ratios, compositions and age structures, develop a wildlife management plan, schedule hunts, record information in the field via Pocket PC technology and much more.
