VCDL Second Amendment Lobby Day – Calls for Team Leaders

Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- VCDL Lobby Day at the General Assembly Building in Richmond (241 N 9th Street, at the SE corner of Broad St. and 9th St) will be held about a month from now – on Monday, January 17th, and we need to get team leaders and team members lined up!

We will be assembling outside the main entrance at 8:45 a.m., and hope to be done with team and individual lobbying by 11:00 a.m. at which time we will have our rally at the bell tower. More will follow in a later alert.

The importance of Lobby Day to our second amendment rights cannot be overstated. As always, VCDL has a full and aggressive agenda for the upcoming legislative session, and all of the readily identifiable VCDL teams filling the hallways to meet with delegates and senators to solicit their support makes a huge impression. We really need YOU, so please make arrangements with employers, mark your calendar, and even bring friends and family with you to help make a difference!

We DO NOT organize teams by constituents, because our goal is to visit EVERY senator and delegate with numerically equivalent teams, and many of those lawmakers will have few or no constituents among us due to member demographics, distance, location, etc. We DO however, recognize the importance that lawmakers place on their own constituents, which is why we ask team members to visit their own delegates and senators after making the rounds with their assigned team. That part can be done individually or with the team, too.

Right now VCDL needs team leaders to get the organizational ball rolling. Team leaders will be assigned team members as those members arrive on site in January. Team leaders will be given specific assignments as to which delegates and/or senators to visit, and they will be provided VCDL handouts on gun bills to be given to their assigned lawmakers to help guide the lawmakers when they vote.

If you have lobbied before and can help as a team leader, please respond as soon as possible to John Fenter at [email protected]
