USPSA Area 6 Regional Shoot Picks Up Springfield Armory & Other Sponsors
SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. –-(Ammoland.com)- Firearms maker Springfield Armory, along with Competitive Edge Dynamics and EarScopes, has signed on as stage sponsors for the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship which will be held April 15-17 at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, Fla.
The Area 6 match is one of the most popular among USPSA members and has already drawn 350 shooters representing 26 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the states that make up the Area 6 region, Puerto Rico, Canada, Jamaica, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Brazil. Match officials expect upwards of 380 competitors to participate in the match.
“We are extremely pleased with continued support the Area 6 Championship continues to receive from the firearms industry,” said Linda Chico, the USPSA Area 6 director. “The popularity of the Area 6 match is due in no small part to its popularity with gun and accessory manufacturers whose support is based on the realization that USPSA members represent upwards of $45 million in potential sales.”
Besides Springfield Armory, Competitive Edge Dynamics and EarScopes, Velocity Shooter is also helping to sponsor the match. Previously announced sponsors include Glock, GPI Custom Gunworks, Otis Technology, Rescomp/CR Speed and TechWear USA. Match officials expect to announce additional sponsors in the coming week.
