911 Call

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting:

The man who police say was killed by a homeowner during an attempted sexual assault was identified Thursday as Israel Perez Puentes, 34, of Alpharetta.

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Dept.Gwinnett authorities say Israel Perez Puentes, 34, was killed when he entered a Duluth home and tried to sexually assault a woman.

A Gwinnett County woman shot and killed Puentes Wednesday morning after the knife-wielding man attacked her in the shower, police said.

The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. at a home in the 2800 block of East Mount Tabor Circle.

Gwinnett police Cpl. Edwin Ritter told the AJC that the woman, who is in her early 50s, was getting out of the shower when the intruder, who she did not know, turned out the lights and attacked her.

She fell back into the shower, injuring her back, and attempted to fight Puentes off with the shower rod, Ritter said.

“She was telling him that she has money and please don’t hurt her,” Ritter said.

“He forced her into her bedroom,” Ritter said. “Once inside the bedroom, she retrieved a .22-caliber pistol and shot him several times.” Ritter characterized the attack as an attempted sexual assault.

The suspect ran outside the house and collapsed. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he died.

This is a great example of why there should be no limit on gun magazine size. Guns are the great equalizer and this women just needed more ammunition to be sure her attacker was stopped.

How much you wanna bet she goes and buys a 9mm or higher caliber this week?

I'm glad she's OK and he's not. I wonder if she's shopping for a big bore hole maker now? I'm going to guess at least eight of those nine rounds hit center body mass or central nervous system. Little guns are for squirrels, and they don't build hearses with luggage racks. Spend what money you need to spend to get a decent gun and feel comfortable using it. The people who love you will thank you for it!

In all fairness it was a .22, hi-cap mags should be mandatory on .22s LOL
