ACCOKEEK, MD –-(Ammoland.com)- Benelli’s M4 Tactical, also known as the “M1014 Joint Service Combat Shotgun,” will be the featured firearm on episode 3 of tonight’s Top Shot, History Channel’s top-rated competition TV series now in its third season.

The M4 Tactical is a unique Auto Regulating Gas Operated (A.R.G.O.) semi-auto shotgun that’s tough enough to fulfill the shotgun needs of the U.S. Marine Corps.

This no-nonsense shotgun comes standard with a Picatinny rail for mounting optics and a tactical pistol-grip stock and features a fully adjustable

ghost-ring aperture rear sight and windage-adjustable front sight.

Also appearing on tonight’s show airing at 10 p.m. (EST), is Team Benelli 3-Gun Shooter and Top Shot regular, Taran Butler, a

multi-gun expert who introduces many of the guns used in the competition. As a veteran competitor in 3-Gun matches, Butler is more than qualified to explain the proper methods employed for shooting various guns effectively.

On tonight’s show, shotgun skills are tested in a head-to-head speed shooting challenge that will have tensions escalating on both teams, especially since it will also be an elimination challenge, unlike any before it.

This season’s Top Shot will include the most physically demanding challenges yet, with more surprising twists than ever before. This time, an all-new arsenal of history-inspired challenges awaits 16 contestants as they vie for a $100,000 prize package and the right to claim the title of “Top Shot.”

The 14 marksmen and two markswomen were carefully selected from thousands of applicants to participate in this season. The contestants include a national revolver champion, two homeland security agents, a former Navy SEAL, two cops, a nurse and several firearms instructors. Two of the competitors are self-taught.

The shooters will have to display mastery of weapons from all eras of human history, from primitive rocks to sophisticated firearms. In addition, they must endure grueling physical tests to stay in the game.

High-speed, high-definition cameras capture the skillful execution of each test in extreme slow motion.

“The M4 Tactical is the ideal choice for use by the competitors on Top Shot,” Said Stephen McKelvain, Benelli USA VP of Marketing & Communications. “This gun had to pass the most grueling and rugged tests imaginable to satisfy the Marines’ combat standards, so for this gun, it should be a walk-in-the-park, as long as the shooters can keep up with it—it was made to perform in the harshest circumstances.”
