NSSF to Sponsor 2012 Season of Scott Linden’s Wingshooting USA TV Series
NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- The National Shooting Sports Foundation has renewed its title sponsorship of Scott Linden’s television series Wingshooting USA for 2012.
This marks the fourth season for the partnership, which promotes the NSSF initiative of the same name, wingshootingusa.org.
“Scott Linden’s Wingshooting USA show brings the fun and excitement of upland bird hunting, and NSSF is proud to once again support a series that brings this great pastime to such a large audience,” said Mark Thomas, NSSF’s managing director of marketing-communiations. NSSF is the trade association of the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry.
The award-winning series is broadcast on five television networks, including VERSUS (NBC Sports as of Jan. 2). The NSSF sponsorship includes commercial spots, in-show announcements, online marketing and the fourth annual “Take your kid hunting” sweepstakes, where a viewer and child star in an episode of the show. The program’s popular “Buddy & Me” segment is also used regularly in the NSSF-Gunbroker.com “Pull the Trigger” email newsletter.
Wingshooting USA’s new 2012 episodes debut next summer. Locations range from South Dakota to California, Georgia to Nebraska. Voted “favorite upland series” in two consecutive national surveys, the show is a fast-paced mix of entertainment, education and information designed to motivate wingshooters of all experience levels to hunt more often and recruit new participants. The program also raises funds and awareness for six conservation, youth and dog rescue groups through an online, viral and on-air partnership of TruckVault, Linden and participating sponsors.
Wingshooting USA also is sponsored by Cabela’s, TruckVault, State of South Dakota, Happy Jack Inc., Fausti shotguns, Kent Cartridge, Ugly Dog Hunting Co. and Tri-Tronics.
The NSSF’s website, www.wingshootingusa.org, is a database of bird hunting lodges, preserves and clubs. It is designed to encourage lapsed, new, and experienced wingshooters to visit a nearby hunting facility and hunt more often.
