TRENTON, NJ –-( There are approximately 1,000,000 people that fish and/or hunt in New Jersey.

Our numbers are 20% of all of the registered voters.

We are perhaps the largest single special interest group in the state – five (5) times larger than the membership of the New Jersey Education Association.

The fact is that anglers and hunters have tremendous potential as a voting bloc; we simply need to vote for our potential to be realized.

The New Jersey Outdoor Alliance (NJOA) has endorsed Senator Donald Norcross in District 5

and Senator Oroho, Assemblyman Chiusano, and Assemblywoman McHose in District 24

For your review, the NJOA has listed the state legislators that have responded to our Questionnaire about the importance of conservation, fishing, and hunting and those that are members of the New Jersey Angling & Hunting Conservation Caucus

If the conservationists do not vote we give those who work to take away our freedoms to fish and hunt a greater voice, and they use this against us. Let’s set the stage for the next two years for the issues that are important to us by asserting ourselves at the voting booth.

Whether it’s “Traps Off the Reefs”, “Hooked on Fishing Not On Drugs”, “Constitutional Amendment to Fish and Hunt”, “Conservation for Healthy Waters and Forests”, etc. our success with conservation legislation and policy for the next two years begins tomorrow, November 8th – Election Day.

Voting is perhaps the single most important action we can take to help ensure the future of the things we prize — the outdoors. It’s free, it’s easy and it only takes a few minutes but it has a lasting impact.
