APPLETON, WI –-(Ammoland.com)- Road Warrior Sports will launch the Atlas 8, a multi-function sport trailer for family adventures and epic outings, at the Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake City January 19-22.

The Atlas 8 (MSRP: $5,695.00) uses two compartments to organize an epic’s worth of gear from coolers to camping gear and bikes or boats on top with optional roof racks. The sport trailer can be towed by vehicles large and small thanks to its low weight.

“Years ago I lived in South Africa and small enclosed trailers were behind every kind of vehicle imaginable to service the cargo needs of a small car culture. It was a convenience I immediately missed heading out on road trips with my family back home,” said Road Warrior Sports Founder and President Larry Brown.

“With growing families, economic and environmental factors, people can’t always have a vehicle that can carry themselves and their gear comfortably. The Atlas 8 makes traveling more practical and enjoyable for everyone.”

With a resin transfer molded fiberglass body on an aluminum frame, the Atlas 8 has an empty weight of 550lbs., making it easy for anyone to move or reposition the trailer without requiring them to hook it up to a vehicle. Total cargo capacity is 1,000 lbs., for a total gross axle weight rating of 1,550 lbs. (full specs).

A removable tongue reduces total length to 8.5 feet from 11 feet and the ability to be tilted upright reduces storage requirements to a footprint no larger than the average lawn mower. Wide-opening lids and removable tailgate make loading easy and versatile.

The Atlas 8’s aerodynamic design looks good behind any vehicle and can be color-matched to any paint or wrapped in limitless custom designs from camouflage to tie dye to company branding.

“A trailer isn’t very useful if it never leaves the garage because you are concerned about weather conditions or the security of your gear if left unattended; so we’ve created something that’s user-friendly, has tons of functionality, and looks good out on the road,” Brown said.

Optional roof racks extend the 73 cubic foot cargo capacity to allow bikes, boats and other toys to be transported on top of the Atlas 8, and powerful gas-assisted shocks make opening the lockable hatch easy, even when loaded with up to five bicycles.

Road Warrior Sports will begin selling Atlas 8 trailers directly via its website and is seeking distributors and specialty retailers across the country.

“Outdoor Retailer is the perfect event for us to launch the Atlas 8 because it’s a product that’s ideal for specialty retailers in this space,” Brown said. “Yes, it’s a big item for a small shop, but since all orders can be quickly filled from our Midwest warehouse, only one trailer needs to be on the shop floor and customers get their model in two weeks.”
