WEST HARTFORD, Conn. –-(Ammoland.com)- Colt is proud to announce that as of Feb. 18, the number of Colt’s fans on Facebook has grown to more than 100,000.
To celebrate this milestone, Colt is launching its fourth Facebook giveaway contest, this time offering fans an opportunity to win a Colt jacket and other branded merchandise.
“The response on Facebook has been overwhelming,” said David Ridley, Vice President for Colt Defense LLC, “We really enjoy the daily interaction with our fans and the things they share on the page show how much admiration there is for the Colt brand.”
Six months ago, Colt joined the social media realm to give fans a place to connect with the Colt companies as well as fellow Colt firearm enthusiasts. The Facebook page has allowed Colt followers from around the world to access exclusive information, behind the scenes photos and videos, as well as technical expertise directly from the manufacturer.
“We pride ourselves in listening and communicating directly with our customers,” said Joyce Rubino, Vice President of Marketing, Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, “Our presence on Facebook has given us another venue to do just that.”
Since the page’s launch in September, Colt has seen their Facebook fan base grow steadily, with spikes in page “likes” during two major gun giveaways. To celebrate the page’s launch in September, Colt hosted a sweepstakes that gave fans the chance to win a Colt 6920 rifle. Within six weeks of the page’s launch Colt had reached more than 50,000 fans, including Chuck McKenzie, the one winner selected from more than 19,000 sweepstake entrants.
In late fall Colt partnered with MidwayUSA to offer current and new Facebook fans the opportunity to win a Colt 1911 series pistol and an elaborate MidwayUSA prize package. Alongside Adam Kauffmann, the lucky winner, more than 35,000 people “liked” the Colt Firearms Facebook page during the 45-day long contest.
