Albuquerque, NM –-(Ammoland.com)- I’ve wanted a Glock 36, so I have been looking at them and gathering information on the web. However, I never got a good feel for how they compared to other Glocks handguns from the various YouTube reviewers.
The gun shops in town seem to sell out of them every time they come in so I haven’t had an opportunity to personally handle one. In comes Hickock45 with this very timely video, which definitely assisted me with my quandary.
According to the Glock website, the model 36 is 1.10 inches in width, 6.97 inches long, 4.76 inches high and is the lone pistol that they have given a special trade marked designation as a subcompact Slimline.
It's also the only single stack firearm that the Austrian gun maker has in their lineup. Plus, it’s chambered in .45 ACP and holds six rounds in the magazine, which makes it appealing to those of us who are considering it as a conceal carry, backup and possibly a home defender gun.
What really helped me out was Hickock45 holding the Glock 36 right next to the Glock 23 showing that both were just about the same size in length, width and height. The model 23 is chambered for the .40 S&W and has a magazine capacity of thirteen rounds.
Hickock45 went on to point out that he would choose the Glock 23 over the 36 because of the magazine capacity and that he has no problem with the .40 S&W cartridge over the .45 ACP. That all pistol cartridges are underpowered.
Given the fact that he's a huge fan of Glock firearms (as am I) I'm going to pay attention to what he has to say in this situation.
