USA –-(Ammoland.com)- What: At least one Trout Unlimited chapter in your state is the beneficiary of a TU Embrace-a-Stream grant earmarked for on-the-ground work on local coldwater fisheries.

Embrace-A-Stream (EAS) is the flagship grant program for funding TU's grassroots conservation efforts.

Since its inception in 1975, EAS has funded over 980 individual projects for a total of more than $4 million in direct cash grants.

Local TU chapters and councils contributed an additional $13 million in cash and in-kind services to EAS funded projects for a total investment of more than $17 million.

In 2012, the EAS funded 22 projects in 13 states, with an average grant award of $5,400.

Who: To see a list of the grant recipients, and the local contact person for chapters in your area, visit: http://www.tu.org/sites/www.tu.org/files/documents/eas_grants_2012.pdf

When: The grants have been distributed and work on these projects will begin in the near future.

How much: In all, Trout Unlimited distributed $119,000 to chapters and councils all over America. These projects also attract local funding from chapters and in-kind contributions, significantly increasing the value of each grant, and increase the impact the work will have on local fishing opportunity and the local economy.
