Volunteers Needed For Youth 22 Caliber Steel Challenge In Sparta IL

Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- Qualifications: If you know the three NRA safety rules (See Below) and have an interest in helping introduce young folks to the shooting sports, this event is for you.

These kinds of events are always very rewarding both for the youth who get a unique opportunity, and for the adults who get to mentor the next generation of shooters.

Dates: August 3, 4, 2012

Time: 8:00 Am to 5:00 PM

Location: Sparta World Shooting Complex, Cowboy Action Range

Purpose: To introduce youngsters to Action Pistol Shooting at steel plates with 22 caliber handguns and rifles, and shotguns.

Needed: There is a need for Range Safety Officers, Coaches, Target Setters and other duties.

Like any shooting event, you will need eye and ear protection. There is food available on the grounds. There may be as many as 150 young people per day go through is event so we will need a number of volunteers.

Three NRA Safety Rules:

  1. Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
  2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
  3. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
