This last month came and went in a blur…
Honeoye Falls, NY –(Ammoland.com)- We started off with the AR15.com Rockcastle ProAm which beat last year's event in every way. With over 500 shooters, record attendance, a larger prize table, more vendors, and more fun!
This month we cover the event as well as part 2 of our young shooter's review of what it was like to enter and compete in a major 3-gun event. For any of you with kids or spouses that are hesitant to shoot, this might help overcome that obstacle.
While some of us were at the ProAm, we also held our annual member giveaway. This is where we give a ton of prizes to our Team Members- nothing other than being a current Team Member (i.e. paying subscription) is required. It's our way of saying thanks, and is supported by a number of our industry partners. Thanks to all our partner and to our Team Members!
In the last 30 days, one of our long time friends and arfcom members who ran Life, Liberty, Etc., a popular source of firearms t-shirts, decals, and misc., has decided to shut down his site. He has allowed ARFCOM to pick up the slack though and his designs will continue to be available through AR15.com.
New products continue to roll in the door, and the long awaited colors of BFL hats are finally available as well.
This is all related to the soon to be released “pick up in store” option available on our store. Some products in our online store will only be available for in-store pickup. We will be growing this list with new products greatly in the next few weeks as we work towards the retail store opening.
This means that though we are not ready for an official opening quite yet, we will be letting folks visit the new store while we start stocking the shelves. We invite folks who are local to pick up their orders in store and help us test the new functionality. This should be available as early as next week…
Quite a bit of our efforts will be focused on the store in the next month, but we must not forget to do all we can to make sure as many of our friends and families get out to vote this November. While we've made some progress recently for gun-rights, we've also dodged a number of bullets, and idiots with guns have been in the news a bit more than normal.
With the general unrest in the muslim world, domestic crime, an administration with nothing to lose if re-elected, and everything else going on in the world, probably no issue is more important than the upcoming election.
For this reason we encourage you to read an interview between Chris Cox and Mitt Romney. Make no mistake about it, we all have to do our part this year to make sure the almost half of Americans who voted for the current administration do not trade away our rights in exchange for a short-sighted handout.
It is not enough to get out and vote; we must make sure our friends, families, and everyone else who is eligible makes their opinion count as well. There is simply too much at stake.
AR15.Com originated in 1996 as a mailing list for firearm enthusiasts. As the years passed and interest grew, a website came into existence to present those same enthusiasts with a means to collect, share, and explore information. Shortly afterwards, a bulletin board was added to create a more interactive experience for the growing list of users. The site was still in it's infancy, but was growing in popularity.
