Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- Valinda Rowe, IllinoisCarry spokesperson received a special recognition from her peers during a recent week long blitz of gun rights meetings in the northern part of the state.
Mike Rowe, an IllinoisCarry board director and husband of Valinda Rowe, commented, Valinda received the national title of “Grass Roots Activist of the Year” last fall by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. This was in recognition of her countless hours of work for our Second Amendment Rights.
To commemorate that event, Valinda was presented with an engraved Springfield Armory EMP .40 caliber handgun. The special handgun is engraved with the title of the award, the IllinoisCarry logo, and Valinda's signature.
IllinoisCarry would like to thank Springfield Armory for the special engraving and for helping make the presentation piece possible.
The award was presented during a six day, six event tour for the Rowes, which reached from Rend Lake to Waukegan and points in between. One of the highlights was an all day women’s self-defense training seminar in Speaker of the House Michael Madigan’s home district in Chicago which the Rowes helped organize.
The IllinoisCarry forum was started in April 2004. The idea was that Illinois needed a central location to communicate ideas and information regarding 2nd Amendment issues in Illinois. There are many organizations in Illinois working to protect our 2nd Amendment Rights. Working with these groups IllinoisCarry has become the central location for information and Action Alerts. IllinoisCarry will not endorse political candidates. We simply provide information so voters can make informed decisions. Our goal is to join the other 48 states that allow their citizens to carry concealed firearms. We encourage you to register on our forum and join the fight for your 2nd Amendment Rights in Illinois.
