Nominations Now Open for Outdoor Inspiration Awards presented by adidas Outdoor

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. – -(Ammoland.com)- Nominations for the third annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards presented by adidas Outdoor are now open creating an opportunity to recognize and champion individuals, groups and companies whose efforts are above and beyond in inspiring and encouraging others in their communities to enjoy, participate in, and support outdoor activities.

The awards will be hosted during Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, with the ceremony returning to the Salt Palace Convention Center on Thursday, January 24, 2013.

“We are excited to kick off the official search for this year’s Outdoor Inspiration Award nominees,” said Kenji Haroutunian, Nielsen Expo Outdoor Group vice president and OR show director. “We know the industry is packed with inspirational stories and individuals who are breaking new ground in building active participation in outdoor activities. We are looking to the industry to help us identify and spotlight the achievements of these individuals, groups and companies.”

Past recipients of the Outdoor Inspiration Awards include Erik Weihenmayer, Martin Fox, National Outdoor Leadership School, First Descents, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Mountain Mama, The North Face and REI. The Awards reflect the outdoor industry’s goal of working together and acknowledging those who pursue this common goal.”

Nominations to celebrate aspirational outdoor industry figures, groups and companies are now being accepted on the Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Industry Association websites. Detailed guidelines for nominations are available here. Nominations are due no later than 6 p.m. (PST), December 14, 2012.

The Outdoor Inspiration Awards presentation will be held in Salt Palace Room 250 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday January 24, 2013, which is the second night of the show. The event is free to attend; cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
