State Senator Jill Vogel Is Talking About Being Open To Gun Control.
Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- Senator Vogel, who represents Loudoun, Stafford, Fauquier, Clarke, Frederick, and Winchester, has been a gun-rights supporter in the past, but in an article (below) in NV Daily from last week, she is saying that she is now willing to reconsider gun control, including limiting access to “certain firearms” and also expanding background checks!
That is not acceptable.
Senator Vogel’s constituents elected her with the expectation that she would protect the right to keep and bear arms. And Senator Vogel, when running for office, did not say she would be willing to throw away the gun rights of Virginians because of the horrendous CRIMINAL actions of someone in Virginia, much less Connecticut!
I have repeatedly requested the Senator to explain herself, but no response has been forthcoming. So, we’ll just have to go with what she said in the story.
We all need to call and email the Senator to *politely, but firmly,* remind her that gun control is NOT the answer and that laws must be made using logic and reason, NOT emotion. What happened in Connecticut happened in a state with horrendous gun control and happened in a gun-free zone. Gun control failed as usual to do anything but increase the number of dead.

Dear Senator Vogel,
I recently saw an article in nvdaily.com where you are now considering limiting access to “certain firearms” by regular citizens and also extending background checks.
Limiting access of citizens to firearms is NOT a solution to crime and I’m shocked that you have fallen into that trap. The Connecticut school shooting was in a gun-free zone and committed with stolen guns that were all purchased following a background check!
Utah allows carry in their schools, including teachers (https://www.cnn.com/2012/12/27/us/utah-teachers-weapons/index.html) Ever heard of a school massacre in Utah?
We do not want or need more background checks. Private sales need to be left alone, otherwise we will have a defacto gun registration. There is now talk of confiscations in the media. A defacto registration will be a key tool for a tyrant to do just that. Do not be a part of such a thing!
As Americans we need our rights protected, not ripped away from us because some madman commits yet another horrendous crime. Punish the criminal and stand with the millions of gun owners who will never commit a crime with any of their guns.
You swore to uphold and protect the Constitution. Stripping innocent gun owners of their rights is to break that solemn oath.
Please reconsider your recent comments on gun control and walk away from them.
