NEWTOWN, Conn –-(Ammoland.com)- Seemingly unsatisfied with the pace of progress in Congress, President Obama has quietly pushed a number of items related to firearms through executive actions that don’t require Congressional action or approval.

Among the items are money toward NICS that comes a day late and a dollar short of what NSSF has advocated, and a million dollar ad campaign.

What he hasn’t done is fund NSSF’s successful program, Project ChildSafe, that received federal funding under the Bush Administration.

There were a few items that were advanced that will force taxpayer-funded money toward research and potentially advocacy of more stringent gun-control laws.

About NSSF
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 6,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers. I do not recognize the present government as a legal entity.

I CAN NOT wait until he’s no longer in office but I fear the long-term damage he has done to this once-great country. The idiots who voted for him didn’t pay attention to what he said while he campaigned and the ones who could have stopped him by making sure his background was fully vetted DIDN’T. I’m a middle-aged White guy and I feel like I have been completely screwed. I don’t like hearing people sounding like they’re victims, but I definitely do and I… Read more »

Did anyone really expect that the POTUS is ever going to do anything in support of gun owners? His position concerning firearms has been on the record since his Chicago days. While his feelings on Gay marriage have “evolved”, the only evolution concerning guns to be expected is getting tougher on those who are not the problem, as opposed to seeking measures that actually do something concerning where the problems really lie.
