LUVERNE, AL –-(Ammoland.com)- Lately, either folks are having a tough time finding practice ammo or they don’t want to shoot up all of their precious ammunition practicing.

Marksmanship and firearms handling are physical skills and as such they are perishable. To maintain proficiency we must practice.

During this week’s episode of Student of the Gun, Paul guides the viewer through three separate areas where a shooter can both practice and save money. We take a close look at practical dry-fire, using air guns, and .22 LR sub-caliber conversions.

In the hardware and gear category we give you a sneak peek as some brand new offerings from Colt in pistols and rifles. We also review the Diversion line of gun cases from Blackhawk. You won’t believe what Paul is discreetly transporting.

StudentoftheGun.com is your 24/7 source for all manner of gun related topics. SOTG offers education and entertainment through on-demand video material, online articles, books, DVD’s and live-training events. Student of the Gun; a beginner once, a student for life. www.studentofthegun.com

If I had $1995 I would put in a order for one of those Colt USMC M45 CQCP .45 acp pistols. The Civilian version is even better because it gets more hands on fitting and a guarantee to shoot into 1 inch at a certain distance where the military version only requires it shoot 2.4 inches into a certain distance.Colt should send me one and I would take it to the range with the .45 acp ammo I have and give it a real good testing and going over.I know I can dream until I can buy one.:-)

Manufacturers will make more ammo. The U.S. Homeland Security bought 160 million rounds of hollow point ammo I heard. The military uses 20 million rounds of FMJ,hard ball,a month. So Homeland Security Officers will have ammo for many years as they would use hollow point ammo as they aren’t a Military Branch.Though who do they expect to use all this ammo on.Are they going to Civil War with the American people over some kind of issue. And where I live only shotgun shells and .40 S&W,though expensive,is available.I have ammo because i just bought ammo every month when I saw good deals and I… Read more »

Rather than complain you don’t have ammo to waste, STOP WASTING AMMO! I get tired of people shooting off a dozen rounds in three seconds, then griping about the ammo shortage. If you take time and aim, you (a) actually become a better shot and (b) stop throwing ammo away.

Are you kidding? .22 LR is even harder to get than the other stuff. You may as well forget the conversion idea. Do you think it is suspicious that this ammo shortage just happens as they are talking about forcing all this gun control through? Why did homeland security buy 1.6 billion rounds of ammo?
