Paul G. Markel has worn many hats during his lifetime.  He has been a U.S. Marine, Police Officer, Professional Bodyguard, and Small Arms and Tactics Instructor.  Mr. Markel has been writing professionally for law enforcement and firearms periodicals for nearly twenty years with hundreds and hundreds of articles in print.   Paul is a regular guest on nationally syndicated radio talk shows and subject matter expert in firearms training and use of force.

Mr. Markel has been teaching safe and effective firearms handling to students young and old for decades and has worked actively with the 4H Shooting Sports program.  Paul holds numerous instructor certifications in multiple disciplines; nonetheless, he is and will remain a dedicated Student of the Gun.

Like a lot of folks I have long sought one of these remarkable little shotguns. I thought the MSRP of $800. was incredible when they first came out. I even saw some advance order prices as low as low $700’s. Of course I started saving my pennies. Little did I know these firearms were made of(as one fellow put it) unobtainium. My real question tho is what changed at Ket-Tec or in the mfg of the gun that warrented a 50% mark up in less than a years time in the MSRP. I understand the market drive and all that… Read more »
