BEAVERTON, Ore. –-(Ammoland.com)- Team Leupold pro Jessie Duff claimed her fifth-straight (sixth overall) high lady title at the World Speed Shooting Championships held July 18-20 in Frostproof, Fla.
On her way to the Open title, Duff set a new Steel Challenge Ladies’ Open World Record of 92.72 seconds. A close fought match, Duff took the victory by less than half a second over the runner-up.
The win brings Duff within one of tying the all-time women’s record of seven titles.
“Jessie brings a competitive spirit and never-quit attitude to each and every match, which is just one of the many reasons we’re proud to have her on Team Leupold,” said Mike Slack, senior manager of advertising and communications for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “We’re proud to call her a colleague and a friend.”
In addition to the overall win, Duff also won the Limited Division and the coveted Ladies Steel Master title.
Steel Challenge competition is a timed speed shooting event, where competitors draw on the start signal and engage a series of plates, finishing with a “stop plate” that stops the clock. Competitors shoot each stage four or five times, with the slowest score thrown out. Times for all eight stages are then added up and the fastest time wins.
