DALLAS, TX –-(Ammoland.com)- Three high school seniors and members of the Youth Target Foundation earned college scholarships totaling $2000.
Greg Potter of Flower Mound Marcus High School Competitive Clay Target Team earned $1000 scholarship from Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation and will be attending the University of Arkansas.
He was one of 35 awardees nationwide selected due to their academic achievements, involvement in community activities, and a dedication to clay target shotgun sports.
At the Youth Target Foundation’s 1st Annual Shoot for the Future Scholarship Fundraiser, YTF announced the first Devin Lee Vinson Youth Scholarships winners. This $500 scholarship is awarded to a college-bound Youth Target Foundation member for outstanding citizenship.
Shellee Enfinger, vice-president of YTF said, “the committee decided to award two scholarships this year, instead of just one! We can’t wait to award even more scholarship money next year, our program has grown 1200% this year statewide and we are starting to see these fine young kids graduate and move onto college. Some will even compete at a collegiate level. We will continue to work to be able to offer even more scholarships next year!”
The scholarship awardees are Kevin Shaw (Allen High School) who will attend The Citadel in South Carolina and Aaron Zarvou (Argyle High School) who will be attending Tarleton State. This scholarship, along with YTF’s newly created “Keith “Doc” Hill Memorial Scholarship” will be awarded each year at our annual Shoot for the Future fundraiser. Youth Target Foundation was founded in 2007 and promotes and protects the traditions of target sports.
