Anti Gun CT Senator Chris Murphy says Right to Keep and Bear Arms Is ‘Not a God-Given Right'

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- During a May appearance on Rachel Maddow Lean Forward Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) said gun rights are not “God-given” and any claim that the Founding Fathers wanted U.S. citizens armed so they could repel a tyranny “is insane.”

Murphy said, “The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God-given right. It has always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has.”

This is disturbing language from a sitting Senator, especially when you consider that the First Amendment opens with the phrase “Congress shall make no law” and the Second Amendment states that the right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.”

Moreover, anyone who has studied the two major political philosophies among our Founding Fathers knows that Anti-Federalists persuaded Federalists to add the Bill of Rights to the Constitution as a check on the government rather than the people. The Bill of Rights allowed James Madison to set apart and protect those certain, “unalienable rights” Thomas Jefferson had described in the Declaration of Independence.

These were those rights with which Jefferson said we were “endowed by [our] Creator.” In other words, they were God-given.

Murphy claims that talk of possessing arms as a check on the government is a demonstration of how the NRA has morphed into a “paramilitary group.” But long before the NRA was even thought of, Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story wrote:

The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them.

I am embarrassed to admit that Murphy is one of my state’s Senators.

His lack of knowledge is profound! He is a puppet fo “ocriminal” and the other Comunist Muslin Jihadists in America today!

I hope I never see the day where the citizens of America have to defend our Constitutional rights! I am a retired police officer and I took an oath to defend the Constitution!

I am an oath keeper! MOLON LABBE!

Remember what Joseph Goebbels said in paraphrasing Mein Kampf. He said, tell a big enough lie, often enough, and it becomes the truth. Progressive liberals and the current administration have mastered this propaganda technique. Looking at the comments here, we are preaching to the choir. We need to face these scoundrels and call them out for what they are, what used to be called scalawags in the South. A scalawag today would be one who goes against the founding fathers’ concept of republicanism. Semper fideles!

Taxpayer supplies armed bodyguards certainly aren’t either God given nor Constitutional. Take those away from him and see if his opinion changes.

Thomas Hooker, and Roger Williams – not to mention John Adams – would be aghast if they heard such blasphemy from the mouth of someone selected to lead their descendants.

This is precisely why the founders put it in the Constitution is because they were wise enough to know that over time, even with their best intentions, politicians would start trying to infringe on our rights and chip away at them until the American people would fall under a dictatorship. The Constitution is superior to the individual men and women we have running this country, that’s why it’s the supreme law of the land. Now leave it alone and quit trying to change it.

Look at the television show that this fool was on. That should explain his views. Maddow is one strange bird and MSNBC is full of those birds.

Fortunately, the Creator has determined what constitute our God-given rights; they are not defined or bestowed by demented politicians such as Chris Murphy. They can try to spin it any way that they wish, but Connecticut’s Governor and Senators, along with the rest of their odious ilk, look upon our Sacred Constitution with arrogance and contempt. The outrages that they have perpetrated will not be forgotten, no matter how loudly they bray to the media.

In any event, this @sshole took an oath of office to up hold the constitution. I don’t believe that oath had any qualifying language in it.

It just goes to show you that “they” are going to do and say what they want because WE aren’t doing anything to stop them. The voting booth has been compromised, the jury box has been compromised, but one box remains uncompromisable. THE CARTRIDGE BOX. He and his fellowship of FOOLS better take note of the 300 billion rounds of ammo purchased by WE THE PEOPLE since Odumba stole his way into office.

He’s obviously not familiar with the ‘Founders’. They all were quite explicit about the need for an armed populace.

At the time the 2nd Amendment was written, “militia” ment all free men with the right to vote. Now that includes all voters.

It is narrow mindedness like this that is going to hand this country over to whom ever wants it and has the guns to take it, which if Obama and this a-hole has there way, will be EVERYBODY! This guy, Obummer and the ENTIRE GUN-GRABBER movement that it was GUNS THAT GAVE THEM THEIR FREEDOM FROM A TYRANNICAL DICTATOR in King George! Now, our tyrannical dictator wants to take away our weapons again! WHY? It sure as HELL AIN’T FOR NATIONAL SECURITY, as they would claim and want us to believe.
