DONT GO to the POLICE! Go to your Local Sheriff. The Sheriff works for YOU. The Police work for the Bureacracy, City, County, State, Federal Governments.

    2. All these words don’t mean crap. In NJ you can be denied a gun permit because the chief of police has the final word. I used to be a cop and I resigned because of all the corrupt and political wrangling. The current police chief does not know me but the detectives involved with giving him information are the ones I reported to IA for misconduct. Now I’m on the outside and when the chief says “no permit” even the judge, on appeal, goes along with the chief of police. I have a clean record yet they use the one “catch all” phrase. “A danger to the health safety and welfare etc.” How does a person with a clean record and background check get labeled as such. Seems no one in government wants to help either. I’ve written to the Governor, attorney general and state police. It’s still being shuffled from agency to agency as I get letters telling me who is looking into it this month. The 2nd Amendment does not exist, face it. I read a lot of pretty words but when it comes right down to a man buying a firearm to defend his family (there have been several homicides here recently in what used to be a nice neighborhood). The answer is no, too bad for me right?
