USA –-(Ammoland.com)- Somewhere, everyday in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.

“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation

Most times you won't see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media's story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.

This is just one of those stories;

Owner Andy Blansett and employee Melanie Miller were working at the Medicine Shoppe pharmacy in North Little Rock, Ark. when a man came in and demanded painkillers.

The man then drew a machete, intimidated Miller and attempted to climb over the pharmacy’s counter. In response, Blansett retrieved a .45-caliber pistol and pointed it at the thief, causing him to flee.

Drug thieves beware, in an interview with a local media outlet Blansett noted, “All of the independently owned pharmacists I know carry a concealed [weapon] on them or have one in the store.” (KATV, Little Rock, Ark. 09/05/13)

@Brian,them addicts on those narcotic pain killers will do crazy stuff to get it. Pharmicists really need to be armed.

I was in an Emergency room, local Hospital (severe Hives) when a middle aged female came to the window.

She made a not very convincing play for pain medication, the nurse chased her.

The nurse said this happened often.
