Air Force: ‘So Help Me God’ No Longer Required in Oath, God is Optional

Washington DC – -(  Each Air Academy cadet now has the option as to whether he or she includes the phrase “so help me God” when taking their oaths.

The Air Academy’s oath currently reads: “We will not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate among us anyone who does. Furthermore, I resolve to do my duty and live honorably, so help me God.” 

According to the Air Force Times, on October 25 the Air Force announced the phrase “so help me God” is “optional” for cadets.

This change is in response “to a complaint from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF),” which “advocates for the separation of church and state in the military.”

MRFF president Mikey Weinstein says the Air Force still has not gone far enough, saying that making the phrase “optional” still “creates a tremendous amount of unconstitutional turmoil… for anyone who is a religious objector.”

He said the phrase must be completely eliminated.

TwoGunGunner is just another lost soul to be prayed for, but the problem is the damage they do to this country BEFORE they learn God is a He and not an it. I have a hard time understanding why we as Christians have to be tolerant of everybody else’s rights, but give up ours. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.



If I was taking that oath, I’d make sure I and everyone I knew that was present, would yell at the top of their lungs, “So Help Me God!”

America is and always has been a Christian country. Above all else this is where all good comes from and our foundation lies. To think otherwise is pure stupidity. Look to the Middle East and see what the Muslim faith brings people. Look to the United States to see what God brings to the table. There is no comparison between the two or any other country or religion.


The foundation of our Constitution and Republic have NOTHING to do with the Bible, Judeo-Christian tenets, or God. 1. If it were so, “God” would be somewhere in the Constitution. The word’s not in there. Anywhere. 2. Our system of government comes from the Iroquois, Anglo-Saxon common-law, the Viking jury system, and SECULAR Enlightenment philosophy. 3. The very foundation of our entire Constituitonal Republic is a presumtion of a moral society with a belief in God. The erosion of America is because of the abandonment of our faith in God and a moral compass. Here is yet another example of the atheism being promolgated by our “government”, and our continued decay. May God forgive us for what we are doing. Pray that he brings America back to him and to greatness again, if not for us, the for the next generation.
