Washington DC – -( On the morning of November 2nd 2013, Circle K clerk and acting manager Johnny Jarriel Jr. used a concealed carry handgun to defend customers and thwart a robbery at his store.

Immediately afterward he was fired for “possession/use of a weapon on company property.”

This Circle K is located in Douglasville, Georgia. Having worked as a clerk for three years, Jarriel decided to carry his gun for protection after an increase in area robberies.

According to Jarriel as reported in the Douglas County Sentinel, it was 9:05 a.m. when “a glassy-eyed man talking crazy” entered the store. Emptying a can of pepper spray in Jarriel's eyes, the robber threatened to kill him and everyone in the store. He then put a silver automatic weapon against Jarriel's head while making demands for money.

Jarriel told the robber they needed to walk to the front of the store to get the money. When the robber turned to walk toward the cash register, Jarriel pulled his own gun and fired at the robber.

“Everything was blurry because I still had pepper spray in my eyes,” said Jarriel. “That's when he panicked and ran out of the store.”

Jarriel was uncompromising in defending his choice.

“All I did was try to save my life and the lives of the three other people in the store,” he said.

According to him, he did all he could do in that situation, and even if it meant losing his job, he would do it the same way again.

    1. This is a wonderful policy from circle k. What better way to prevent robberies than to show criminals how peaceful you are by declaring your store gun free and making it clear that all your employees are completely unarmed. We all know that criminals value a fair fight. All circle o needs is a few well placed gun free signs to thwart evil doers.

    2. Circle K thinks they own you when they hire you and they think the lives of their slaves and customers are not worth anything.

    3. Many circle k’s around here, they will never get my business again. I am sure the customers that were protected appreciate the clerks efforts even if the a$$ backwards canadian jerk wads don’t. BOYCOTT CIRCLE K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    4. I live in Louisiana and there are many circle k’s in this state , I will from now on never set foot in another circle k . They should have given this man a raise and thanked him, not fire him. Oh I forgot , these maggots that own circle k are Canadian and they believe no one should have the right to own a gun. Well then I don’t think they should access to any of my money anymore ever! As a matter of fact, put all your stores back in Canada and get them out of America. We protect our family, property and our lives here and especially here in Louisiana.

    5. There’s plenty of these stores here in Georgia at the Florida border where I live in South East Georgia. I will not spend a single penny in their stores! What pea brained type of ownership management must prevail there.

    6. I won’t go anywhere I don’t feel safe so I just crossed Circle K off my list. And I will tell everyone I know about their willingness to have employees abd shoppers killed in their stores.

    7. Circle K is owned and operated by the Canadian-based Alimentation Couche-Tard.
I worked in a Lil Champ store for about 7 years, always with either a double stack 9mm under my shirt or a little .32 in my pocket. I wouldn’t do it any other way, it’s a dangerous job.
They would have fired me on the spot, company rules won’t even let you carry a Swiss Army knife. It is likely an insurance issue, not that that makes it right!

    8. I have had some very negative dealings with this company. I ask all gun owners and 2nd amendment supporters to join me in boycotting Circle K. Don’t shop or buy gasoline at Circle K, and tell them why.
