Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords is teaming up with Sandy Hook mother Nicole Hockley to push gun control on the first anniversary of the heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The crime took place on December 14, 2012, and beginning on November 14, 2013, Giffords and Hockley are encouraging schools to talk to students about “gun violence.”

According to The Sacremento Bee, Giffords and Hockley are asking teachers to talk to K-12 students about “[responding] to tragedies like Newtown and working to prevent them from happening in the future.”

To this end, participating schools will have students trace the outline of one of their hands and write a sentence under the drawing beginning with the words, “I hope…” Students can then write things like “I hope no more tragedies happen,” or “I hope mom and dad are safe,” or the ever-popular “I hope Congress passes the Manchin/Toomey gun control bill.”

Schools are then asked to display “these drawings in classrooms, hallways, and auditoriums.”

Said Giffords:

Stopping gun violence takes courage and new ideas. We are proud to bring students together to honor the lives lost in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, and encourage them to envision an America that is both free and safe.

I wonder how many “whippin’s” that poor child had to endure before he/she finally allowed some scum-bag to outline their hand and desecrate it with someone else’s twisted notion!

The idea of passing more laws to stop gun violence is absurd. The school was a gun free zone, it was illegal to murder the children. Does anyone really think another law would have stopped that nut from killing? Be responsible for your own life.

Most of the people pushing the “gun control” agenda really want us to believe government is the answer to society’s ills. Whether it’s poverty, crime, or disease they really want us to believe more government and more regulation are the panacea. It’s all about control. If their purported Idealism isn’t a big lie, I can only say “grow up”.

There is no room for politics in the classroom. We need to teach are kids to be independent thinkers, not sheep that follow the herd.

The guy @ Sandy Hook was a nut. The guy that shot Gabby was a nut. Just how do Gabby and all those Mommies think more gun laws are going to make a difference to unstable, unbalanced people ? They will have just as much influence as they do with gangbangers and criminals. The only difference is that law abiding people will not have the means to protect you. You people are trying to hit upon SOMETHING, ANYTHING you can do to feel that you are making the world safer. Take training. Learn to shoot. be a licenced, armed individual.… Read more »

What happened to Congresswoman Giffords is unfortunate. When she cast her last vote in Congress, rumor has it, fellow Democrats had to tell her which button to push.

It is unfortunate Rep Giffords was injured,
however, when you are an elected official you have to accept the risks with the job,
just like her husband accepted risk when on the space shuttle mission.

She can recite anything he places in front of her, knowing that background checks would not have stopped that crazy guy from hurting those people that day in Arizona, Colorado or in Connecticut.

Giffords & her husband are nothing but phonies & shysters. Make no mistake they are in it for the bucks. They just started another website & by the way please donate so we can take your rights and line our pockets in the meantime.

Short of circumventing democracy, an effective tactic is brainwashing the next generation of voters. The environmentalists tried to convince school age kids that they were smarter than their parents when it came to environmental issues. This tactic has been tried before. This is all part of the agenda to “fundamentally change America”. If we compare the agenda to squeezing the water out of a sponge, guns are like pins and needles in that sponge.

This outline of hands nonsense reminds me that back in 2010 Venezuelan students took up an anti-govt campaign emphasizing that they were protesting unarmed. (The Venezuelan constitution specifies the right to demonstrate unarmed.) One of their symbols was the outline of hands. They often held up their hands to show their peaceful intentions. It got them nowhere, they were brutally repressed. See http://youtu.be/7xXNx7ccgD0 Giffords et al are just training the young to submit to the govt & be dependent on it. Bye, bye liberty.
