Washington DC – -(  Amid the outrage sparked by the ban on guns at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill in Woodbridge, VA, it's worth noting the country star was for guns before he was against them.

Here's how it looks on paper:

In 2003, the NRA was proud to announce that “country superstar Toby Keith” was playing at their 132nd Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Orlando, Florida. According to Mail Online, Keith performed in Florida to honor then-NRA president Charlton Heston.

In 2010, Keith's big song was Bullets in the Gun. The video to the song romanticizes carrying a gun.

In 2011, Keith talked openly about his support for the carrying of guns for self defense. John Lott posted Keith's words for readers:

I'm all about good people, licensed and trained, carrying a concealed weapon. The bad guys are always gonna be carrying guns. There are so many guns in the U.S and so many bad people that do harm with 'em. If one percent of non-felons would go get their concealed weapons license and carry a gun where they can, one percent puts you in a pretty good position of being somebody that could save a bunch of people's lives.

But on Dec. 27, 2013, Breitbart News reported that Keith's new restaurant has these words affixed to the front window: “No Guns Permitted.” This, although laws in Virginia allow concealed carry permit holders to carry a gun in a bar and grill as long as the permit holder does not drink alcohol in the establishment.

In other words, all the “non-felons” with concealed carry permits who “could save a bunch of people's lives” won't be able to save those lives at Keith's bar and grill.

    1. It’s only exhibiting good common sense to avoid all gun-free zones,if possible, whether it’s a government-owned property or a privately-owned property but these two-faced singers and movie stars like Toby Keith and Sylvester Stallone can all kiss my conservative posterior because they won’t be making a red cent off me any longer.

    2. Sorry, I washed my hands today and can’t do a thing with them. should have read ( and sounds so much smartassy better); “leave the Olympic conclusion jumping competition to the Anti’s who are Oh so good at it.” Normally I blame my stooped keybard for these dumm spellic eerers.

    3. Got to agree with those who say this story is WAY incomplete. Find out Who owns the place, (could be other than Keith himself)and then find out whats behind the posting of the sign. Why loose an friend ? Leave the Olympic conclusion jumping completion to the anti’s who are Oh so good at it.

    4. Next time I’m in Woodbridge, Va. I’ll bypass his bar & grill and find a safer place to eat! What’s good for the goose, should be good for the Gander!

    5. Really…………if your gun is properly concealed then what??!! Do they frisk everyone at the door. And if you still object then vote with your $$$ and avoid the place.
Could also be that most states don’t allow anyone with any drugs or alcohol in their system to carry concealed or not.
If he did allow firearms and some bozo got drunk and shot up the place??? More fodder for the anti-gun crowd. I’ll always support the right to do whatever you please with your property including the right to say NO GUNS in your establishment.

    6. Last I heard, he only lends his name to the business that is owned by someone else. Not an excuse by any means, he should have checked further OR he was just in it for the almighty dollar. Actions (or inactions) do have consequences Toby!

    7. I see the old “Double Standard” rearing it’s ugly head. Maybe the next thing on Toby Keith’s “to-do list” is running for political office?

    8. You can bet one thing. I will not be buying anymore of him CDs or listen to him any more. Do’es he actually believe that a criminal will obey his sign? Now he sounds like a dumb polatition promoting gun free zones.

    9. This kind of reporting is how the leftists do it. Did they try to reach Toby Keith for a response before the article? Im sick of single sided journalism already.

    10. Be careful about eating our own young. If we don’t like what Toby’s business is doing, we should encourage him to change the policy, not attack him. If I were him, I might well turn against gun owners after being treated the way many are treating him. That would not be the best outcome.

    11. It’s really quite simple. Don’t patronize his business, don’t buy his music and stay away from his concerts. “Money talks and the BS walks.”

    12. It’s really quite simple. Don’t patronize his business, don’t buy his music and stay away from his concerts. “Money talks, and the Bull Crap walks.”

    13. Third time was a charm so here it goes for the fouth time…My guess is that the No Guns Permitted sign has something to do with Liability Insurance…Like the Gun Free Zone sign at the Aurora, CO theater shooting, etc…With the sign in place Toby Keith get a cheaper rate for his restaurant…Just guessing…But this also leaves the door open for the whacko to come in and shoot up the place knowing there are no guns inside…My theory!
