Washington DC – -(  On Monday's Hannity on FOX News, host Sean Hannity asked legendary quarterback Joe Namath how he handled PETA's criticism of his fur coat.

Namath smiled and said, “It's not the end of the world.”

Hannity teased up the fur coat question by showing a photo of Namath in a fur coat at a 1971 game side-by-side with a photo of Namath in fur coat at the 2014 Super Bowl.

Hannity said: “I've got a picture of you side-by-side from 1971 wearing a fur coat and one from last night. You know things haven't really changed a whole lot in your life. And PETA's coming after you–they're pretty annoyed with you. Do you have response to them?”

Namath smiled and asked, “Who?”

Hannity then restated: “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. They're mad you're wearing a fur coat.”

A smiling Namath then replied: “I tell you what, we'll deal with that as we go along. There are things we're going to handle later. They can be mad if they'd like. I love animals and it's not the end of the world.”

    1. Woody, have you ever seen the brutality that is nature? When one species, hunts, and kills another for food? Man IS superior to all other species MOST of the time. Nero, Napoleon, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, and radical Islamists are certainly exceptions to that rule, Do you remember when millions of Hindu’s were starving in India, because they would not touch the cattle that walked among the. The cattle were so sacred to them that they would rather die of starvation then use them for food. Animals were put on this earth to serve man. If you chose not to use animals for the purposes God intended so be it, but don’t criticize those who do.

    2. As usual, man’s ego believes that his species is superior to all others & that all other species is on earth to serve his. People pay no mind to the videos & pictures of the horrors these innocent animals suffer as they are stuffed into tiny cages, treated brutally during their lives &often skinned alive. I would hope that human beings would at least have the dignity & presence of mind to support the humane treatment of these poor suffering animals, even if they support their use for so called luxury clothing. Man’s humanity toward man is not all that is sinful; so is man’s inhumanity to animals.

    3. God made plants and animals for mans’ sustenance. They were meant to be our food and clothing. If PETA practiced what they preach, they wouldn’t execute 90% of the animals brought into their “shelters”. Typical liberal hypocrites!

    4. “Broadway Joe” I remember back in the Day the Chargers were playing the jets. After the Game “Joe” with his Fur and a very pretty Young girl came into the El Torito rest in Mission valley San Diego. He was so cool, Gave several people an autograph, photos. I was the GM for the restaurant than.

    5. PETA; People Eating Tastey Animals.
Using animals ethically is why man was put at the top of the food chain. We are the stewards of the world, not to just stand by and watch things run amuck.
